⁵ For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. ² By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God; ³ and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the antichrist you heard is coming, and even now is already in the world.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet doing signs before it, (by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast), and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.

¹⁶ And it causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or in their foreheads, ¹⁷ even that not any might buy or sell except those having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of its name.

²⁴ For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.

³ and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the antichrist you heard is coming, and even now is already in the world.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last time. And just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have risen up, from which we know that it is the last hour.

³ Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition, ⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God. ⁵ Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you? ⁶ And now you know what holds back, for him to be revealed in his own time. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is already working, only he is now holding back until it comes out of the midst. ⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming, ⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, ¹² so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.

²² Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.

⁷ For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the anti-christ.

And all the earth marveled after the beast. ⁴ And they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with it? ⁵ And a mouth speaking great things was given to it, and blasphemies. And authority was given to it to continue forty-two months. ⁶ And it opened its mouth in blasphemy toward God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those dwelling in Heaven. ⁷ And it was given to it to war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given to it over every tribe and tongue and nation. ⁸ And all dwelling on the earth will worship it, those whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain, from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If anyone has an ear, let him hear. ¹⁰ He who leads into captivity will go into captivity. If anyone will kill with the sword, he must be killed by a sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. ¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. And it had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon. ¹² And it exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those dwelling in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And it does great wonders, so that it makes fire come down from the heaven onto the earth in the sight of men. ¹⁴ And it deceives those dwelling on the earth, because of the miracles which were given to it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the wound by a sword and lived. ¹⁵ And there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might both speak, and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. ¹⁶ And it causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or in their foreheads, ¹⁷ even that not any might buy or sell except those having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of its name. ¹⁸ Here is the wisdom. Let him having reason count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. And its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
