¹ A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless Jehovah at all times; His praise always shall be in my mouth. ² My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah; the humble shall hear and be glad. ³ O magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt His name together. ⁴ I sought Jehovah, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ They looked to Him, and were filled with light; and their faces were not ashamed. ⁶ This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard, and saved him out of all his troubles. ⁷ The Angel of Jehovah camps round about those who fear Him, and delivers them. ⁸ Taste and see that Jehovah is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him. ⁹ O fear Jehovah, His holy ones; for there is nothing lacking to those who fear Him. ¹⁰ The young lions lack, and suffer hunger; but those who seek Jehovah shall not lack any good thing. ¹¹ Come, listen to me, my sons; I will teach you the fear of Jehovah. ¹² Who is the man that desires life, and loves days, that he may see good? ¹³ Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile. ¹⁴ Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. ¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. ¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. ¹⁷ The righteous cry, and Jehovah hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. ¹⁸ Jehovah is near to the broken-hearted; and saves those who are of a contrite spirit. ¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Jehovah delivers him out of them all. ²⁰ He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. ²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous shall be held guilty. ²² Jehovah redeems the soul of His servants; and none of them who trust in Him shall be guilty.

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Jehovah shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever.

²⁴ For He has not despised nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; and He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.

¹⁷ Jehovah, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart, You will cause Your ear to hear, ¹⁸ to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, so that the man of the earth may no more terrify.

³³ I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

¹⁷ For the lightness of our present affliction works out for us a far more excellent eternal weight of glory,

² My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations, ³ knowing that the trying of your faith works patience. ⁴ But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

¹ Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

⁷¹ It is good for me that I have been afflicted, so that I might learn Your Precepts.

¹⁶ For this cause we do not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

¹¹ Behold, we count blessed those who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity and of tender mercy.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Jehovah delivers him out of them all.

¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us.

³ And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also, knowing that afflictions work out patience, ⁴ and patience works out experience, and experience works out hope.

⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me.

¹³ No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.
