⁴¹ For whoever gives you a cup of cold water to drink in My name, because you are of Christ, truly I say to you, In no way he will lose his reward.

² And the foreigners were showing not the common kindness to us, for having kindled a fire because of the rain coming on, and because of the cold, they welcomed us all.

² that you may receive her in the Lord, as is worthy of the saints, and may assist her in whatever thing she may need of you. For she also became a helper of many, and of myself.

²³ And whatever you may do, work from the soul as to the Lord and not to men, ²⁴ knowing that from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

¹⁰ being witnessed by good works, if she brought up children, if she hosted strangers, if she washed the feet of the saints, if she relieved afflicted ones, if she followed after every good work.

² Then it behooves the overseer to be blameless, husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, well-ordered, hospitable, apt at teaching;

⁷ serving as slaves with good will to the Lord, and not as to men,

¹² And He also said to him who had invited Him, When you make a dinner or supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also should invite you in return, and it become a repayment to you. ¹³ But when you make a banquet, call the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; ¹⁴ and then you will be blessed, for they have nothing to repay you. For it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just.

⁸ but hospitable, a lover of good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

³⁴ as the native among you, so shall be the alien who is staying with you; and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God.

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, the blessed of My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink? ³⁸ And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You ? ³⁹ And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me. ⁴¹ Then He will also say to those on His left, Go away from Me, cursed ones, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the Devil and his angels. ⁴² For I hungered, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I thirsted, and you gave me nothing to drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me. ⁴⁴ Then they also will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You? ⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of these, the least, neither did you do it to Me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

¹³ imparting to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without murmurings,

² Do not forget hospitality, for by this some unknowingly took in angels as guests.
