³³ And in the synagogue was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, ³⁴ saying, Aha! What is to us and to You, Jesus, Nazarene? Did You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God. ³⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out from him! And throwing him into the midst, the demon came out from him, not harming him. ³⁶ And astonishment came on all. And they spoke with one another, saying, What word is this, that He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out?

¹⁷ And one answered out of the crowd, saying, Teacher, I brought my son to You, having a dumb spirit. ¹⁸ And wherever it seizes him, it dashes him; and he foams and gnashes his teeth. And he wastes away. And I told Your disciples, that they might expel it. And they were not able. ¹⁹ And answering them, He said, O unbelieving generation! How long will I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him to Me. ²⁰ And they brought him to Him. And seeing Him, the spirit immediately convulsed him. And falling on the ground, he wallowed, foaming. ²¹ And He questioned his father, How long a time is it while this has happened to him? And he said, From childhood. ²² And often it threw him both into fire and into water, that it might destroy him. But if You are able to do anything, help us, having pity on us. ²³ And Jesus said to him, If you are able to believe, all things are possible to those believing. ²⁴ And immediately crying out, the father of the child said with tears, Lord, I believe! Help my unbelief! ²⁵ And seeing that a crowd is running together, Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, Come out from him, and you may no more go into him! ²⁶ And crying out, and convulsing him very much, it came out. And he became as if dead, so as for many to say that he died. ²⁷ But taking hold of his hand, Jesus raised him up, and he stood up. ²⁸ And He entering into a house, His disciples questioned Him privately, Why were we not able to cast it out? ²⁹ And He said to them, This kind can go out by nothing except by prayer and fasting.

⁸ For He said to him, Unclean spirit, come out of the man!

⁴² But as he was yet coming up, the demon tore him and violently convulsed him . But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child, and gave him back to his father.

¹⁷ And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your Name.

⁴⁹ And answering, John said, Master, we saw someone casting out demons on Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us. ⁵⁰ And Jesus said to them, Do not forbid, for whoever is not against us is for us.

²⁰ But if I cast out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

¹⁸ And she did this over many days. But becoming distressed, and turning to the demonic spirit, Paul said, In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out from her! And it came out in that same hour.

¹³ But certain from the strolling Jews, exorcists, undertook to name the name of the Lord Jesus over those having evil spirits, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches. ¹⁴ And there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, doing this. ¹⁵ But answering the evil spirit said, I know Jesus, and I comprehend Paul, but who are you? ¹⁶ And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, and overcoming them, he was strong against them, and having been wounded, they fled out of the house naked.

¹² so as even handkerchiefs or aprons from his skin to be brought onto those sick, and the diseases to be released from them, and the evil spirits to go out from them.

¹³ Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand.

⁷ Then be subject to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.

¹⁸ Because even Christ once suffered concerning sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God; indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; ¹⁹ in which also, going in to the spirits in prison, He then proclaimed ²⁰ to disobeying ones, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, an ark having been prepared in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. ²¹ Which figure now also saves us, baptism (not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ; ²² who going into Heaven is at the right of God, the angels, and authorities, and powers being subjected to Him).

¹³ And Jesus immediately allowed them. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered into the pigs. And the herd rushed down the cliff into the sea (and they were about two thousand), and they were choked in the sea.

³⁸ And John answered Him, saying, Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, who does not follow us. And we forbade him, because he does not follow us.

¹⁵ But answering the evil spirit said, I know Jesus, and I comprehend Paul, but who are you?

¹¹ And God did uncommon works of power through the hands of Paul, ¹² so as even handkerchiefs or aprons from his skin to be brought onto those sick, and the diseases to be released from them, and the evil spirits to go out from them.

¹⁹ Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and on all the power of the Enemy, and nothing shall hurt you, not at all

¹⁰ For the rest, my brothers, be made powerful in the Lord and in the might of His strength. ¹¹ Put on all the armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil, ¹² because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies. ¹³ Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Then stand firm, "having girded your loins about with truth" and having put "on the breastplate of righteousness," Isa. 11:5; 59:17 ¹⁵ and having shod the feet with the preparation of the "gospel of peace." Isa. 52:7 ¹⁶ Above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the darts of the evil one, having been made fiery. ¹⁷ Also, take "the helmet of salvation," and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5 ¹⁸ through all prayer and petition, praying at every time in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

⁸ Be sensible, watch, because your adversary the Devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking someone he may devour;

¹⁶ The one believing and being baptized will be saved. And the one not believing will be condemned. ¹⁷ And signs will follow to those believing these things: they will cast out demons in My name; they will speak new languages; ¹⁸ they will take up snakes; and if they drink anything deadly, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.
