⁹ You shall not drink wine and strong drink, you nor your sons with you, as you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, and you shall not die; a never ending statute throughout your generations;

²² Woe to those mighty to drink wine, and brave men to mix fermented drink;

¹¹ Woe to those who rise early in the morning to go after fermented drink, tarrying in the twilight while wine inflames them!

²⁰ Be not among heavy drinkers of wine, with flesh gluttons to themselves, ²¹ for the drunkard and the glutton lose all, and sleepiness shall clothe one with rags.

⁷ Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God now is pleased with your works.

³⁴ The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for the service of man, to bring food out of the earth. ¹⁵ And wine cheers the heart of man; oil makes his face shine, and bread sustains the heart of man.

⁶ And Jehovah of Hosts shall make a feast of fat things for all the peoples in this mountain; a feast of wine on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, refined wine on the lees. ⁷ And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering which covers all people, and the veil that is woven over all nations. ⁸ He will swallow up death in victory! And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And He shall reprove the reproach of His people from all the earth; for Jehovah has spoken ⁹ And one shall say in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is Jehovah; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the water; and he who has no silver, come buy grain and eat. Yes, come buy grain, wine and milk without silver and with no price.

¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a wine drinker, and a friend of tax collectors, and of sinners. And wisdom was justified by her children.

²¹ It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything by which your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak.

²³ No longer drink water, but use a little wine on account of your stomach and your frequent infirmities.

²⁹ Who has woe, who sorrow? Who has contentions, who has babbling? Who has wounds without cause? Who has dullness of eyes? ³⁰ those who stay long at the wine, those who go to seek mixed wine. ³¹ Do not look at the wine when it is red, when it gives its color in the cup, when it goes down smoothly, ³² at its last it bites like a snake, and it stings like a basilisk. ³³ Your eyes shall look on strange women, and your heart shall speak perverse things; ³⁴ yes, you shall be as one who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on the top of a mast, ³⁵ saying, They struck me! I was not sick! They beat me, yet I did not know. When I awaken I will add to it, I will still seek it.

¹ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is stirring, and each one straying by it is not wise.

⁹ Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

Against such things there is not a law. ²⁴ But the ones belonging to Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. ²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

¹⁸ And "do not be drunk with wine," in which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit, Prov. 23:31
