Bible verses about "love" | KJC

Matthew 22:36-40

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John 14:15

15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

1 Corinthians 13:13

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know just as also I am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Peter 4:8

8 And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins.

1 John 4:19

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

1 John 4:18

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:7

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.

Ephesians 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Mark 12:29-31

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is similar, namely this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Colossians 3:14

14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

1 Corinthians 16:14

14 Let all your things be done with love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
