¹¹ Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing. ¹² For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and have become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.

¹⁷ But whoever has this world's good, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his insides of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

¹ But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write unto you. ² For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. ¹¹ Therefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, just as also you do.

³⁸ Watch you and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. ³⁹ And again he went away, and prayed, and spoke the same words. ⁴⁰ And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither did they know what to answer him. ⁴¹ And he comes the third time, and says unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. ⁴⁰ And you will not come to me, that you might have life.

¹⁷ Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.

⁹ Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. ¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; ¹¹ Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; ¹² Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; ¹³ Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you wert cold or hot. ¹⁶ So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

¹⁶ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

² Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.

¹¹ Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹⁶ So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
