³⁰ They said therefore unto him, What sign do you show then, that we may see, and believe you? what do you work? ³¹ Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. ³² Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. ³³ For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world. ³⁴ Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. ³⁵ And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst. ³⁶ But I said unto you, That you also have seen me, and believe not. ³⁷ All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and he that comes to me I will in no wise cast out. ³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me. ³⁹ And this is the Father's will who has sent me, that of all that he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. ⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

³⁴ Jesus said unto them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
