¹³ But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two; for we have greatly transgressed in this matter.

⁶ For He saith to the snow: 'Fall thou on the earth'; likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of His mighty rain.

¹⁰ Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields;

⁴¹ And Elijah said unto Ahab: 'Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.' ⁴² So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees. ⁴³ And he said to his servant: 'Go up now, look toward the sea.' And he went up, and looked, and said: 'There is nothing.' And he said: 'Go again seven times.' ⁴⁴ And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said: 'Behold, there ariseth a cloud out of the sea, as small as a man's hand.' And he said: 'Go up, say unto Ahab: Make ready thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.' ⁴⁵ And it came to pass in a little while, that the heaven grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

⁶ May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.

¹⁰ For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, except it water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

¹ Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain, even of the LORD that maketh lightnings; and He will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

⁴ then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield her produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
