⁵⁰ and will throw them into a blazing furnace. In that place there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

²² But I say to you, anyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be subject to punishment. And whoever says to his brother ‘Raka!’ will be subject to the Council. And whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to hell fire.

⁹ Such people will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction by being separated from the Lord’s presence and from his glorious power

¹⁰ and the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were. They will be tortured day and night forever and ever.

¹⁴ Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. (This is the second death—the lake of fire.)

¹¹ The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

⁴³ So if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better for you to enter life injured than to have two hands and go to hell, to the fire that cannot be put out. ⁴⁴ In that place, worms never die, and the fire is never put out.
⁴⁵ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. ⁴⁶ In that place, worms never die, and the fire is never put out.
⁴⁷ And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It’s better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell. ⁴⁸ In that place, worms never die, and the fire is never put out.

⁴⁶ These people will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

²⁸ Stop being afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell.

¹⁶ “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not be lost but have eternal life. ¹⁷ Because God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. ¹⁸ Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s unique Son.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with the Messiah Jesus our Lord.

¹⁵ Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

⁸ But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”
