¹⁴ Nowe therefore feare the Lord, and serue him in vprightnesse and in trueth, and put away the gods, which your fathers serued beyonde the flood and in Egypt, and serue the Lord. ¹⁵ And if it seeme euill vnto you to serue the Lord, choose you this day whome yee will serue, whether the gods which your fathers serued (that were beyond the flood) or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwel: but I and mine house will serue the Lord.

¹¹ And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders sayd, We are witnesses: the Lord make the wife that commeth into thine house, like Rahel and like Leah, which twaine did build the house of Israel: and that thou mayest doe worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem,

⁵ Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me: ⁶ And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.

²¹ And he spake vnto ye childre of Israel, saying, When your children shall aske their fathers in time to come, and say, What meane these stones? ²² Then ye shall shew your children, and say, Israel came ouer this Iorden on dry land:

²² The good man shall giue inheritance vnto his childrens children: and the riches of the sinner is layde vp for the iust.

¹⁷ But the louing kindnesse of the Lord endureth for euer and euer vpon them that feare him, and his righteousnes vpon childrens children,

¹ Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man, that feareth the Lord, and deliteth greatly in his commandements. ² His seede shall be mightie vpon earth: the generation of the righteous shall be blessed. ³ Riches and treasures shalbe in his house, and his righteousnesse endureth for euer.

²⁰ I praie not for these alone, but for them also which shall beleeue in mee, through their woorde, ²¹ That they all may bee one, as thou, O Father, art in me, and I in thee: euen that they may be also one in vs, that the worlde may beleeue that thou hast sent me. ²² And the glory that thou gauest me, I haue giuen them, that they may be one, as we are one, ²³ I in them, and thou in mee, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the worlde may knowe that thou hast sent mee, and hast loued them, as thou hast loued me. ²⁴ Father, I will that they which thou hast giuen me, be with me euen where I am, that they may beholde that my glorie, which thou hast giuen mee: for thou louedst me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father, the worlde also hath not knowen thee, but I haue knowen thee, and these haue knowen, that thou hast sent me.

¹ I charge thee therefore before God, and before the Lord Iesus Christ, which shall iudge the quicke and dead at that his appearing, and in his kingdome, ² Preach the worde: be instant, in season and out of season: improue, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. ³ For the time will come, when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but hauing their eares itching, shall after their owne lustes get them an heape of teachers, ⁴ And shall turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe giuen vnto fables. ⁵ But watch thou in all thinges: suffer aduersitie: doe the worke of an Euangelist: cause thy ministerie to be throughly liked of. ⁶ For I am nowe readie to be offered, and the time of my departing is at hand. ⁷ I haue fought a good fight, and haue finished my course: I haue kept the faith. ⁸ For hence foorth is laide vp for me the crowne of righteousnesse, which the Lord the righteous iudge shall giue me at that day: and not to me onely, but vnto all them also that loue that his appearing. ⁹ Make speede to come vnto me at once: ¹⁰ For Demas hath forsaken me, and hath embraced this present world, and is departed vnto Thessalonica. Crescens is gone to Galatia, Titus vnto Dalmatia. ¹¹ Onely Luke is with me. Take Marke and bring him with thee: for he is profitable vnto me to minister. ¹² And Tychicus haue I sent to Ephesus. ¹³ The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou commest, bring with thee, and the bookes, but specially the parchments. ¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much euill: the Lord rewarde him according to his workes. ¹⁵ Of whome be thou ware also: for he withstoode our preaching sore. ¹⁶ At my first answering no man assisted me, but all forsooke me: I pray God, that it may not be laide to their charge. ¹⁷ Notwithstanding the Lord assisted me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully beleeued, and that al the Gentiles should heare: and I was deliuered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord will deliuer me from euery euil worke, and will preserue me vnto his heauenly kingdome: to whome be praise for euer and euer, Amen. ¹⁹ Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the householde of Onesiphorus. ²⁰ Erastus abode at Corinthus: Trophimus I left at Miletum sicke. ²¹ Make speede to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren. ²² The Lord Iesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you, Amen.

¹² Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you alwayes in remembrance of these things, though that ye haue knowledge, and be stablished in the present trueth. ¹³ For I thinke it meete as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stirre you vp by putting you in remembrance, ¹⁴ Seeing I knowe that the time is at hand that I must lay downe this my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me. ¹⁵ I will endeuour therefore alwayes, that ye also may be able to haue remembrance of these things after my departing.

⁴ Generation shall praise thy works vnto generation, and declare thy power.

²⁰ But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

² And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.

⁵ And thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy might. ⁶ And these wordes which I commaund thee this day, shalbe in thine heart. ⁷ And thou shalt rehearse them continually vnto thy children, and shalt talke of them when thou tariest in thine house, and as thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp:

⁴ Wee will not hide them from their children but to the generation to come we wil shewe the praises of the Lord his power also, and his wonderful woorkes that he hath done:
