²⁷ He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.

¹⁵ Wherefore he said vnto them, Take heede, and beware of couetousnesse: for though a man haue abundance, yet his life standeth not in his riches.

⁵ Mortifie therefore your members which are on the earth, fornication, vncleannes, the inordinate affection, euill concupiscence, and couetousnes which is idolatrie.

⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, neither vncleane person, nor couetous person, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdome of Christ, and of God.

¹⁷ This I say therefore and testifie in the Lord, that yee hencefoorth walke not as other Gentiles walke, in vanitie of their minde, ¹⁸ Hauing their vnderstanding darkened, and being strangers from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardnesse of their heart: ¹⁹ Which being past feeling, haue giuen themselues vnto wantonnesse, to woorke all vncleannesse, euen with griedinesse. ²⁰ But yee haue not so learned Christ, ²¹ If so be yee haue heard him, and haue bene taught by him, as the trueth is in Iesus, ²² That is, that yee cast off, concerning the conuersation in time past, that olde man, which is corrupt through the deceiueable lustes, ²³ And be renued in the spirit of your minde, ²⁴ And put on ye new man, which after God is created vnto righteousnes, and true holines.

³ But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes,

⁵ Let your conuersation be without couetousnesse, and be content with those things that ye haue, for he hath said,

¹⁰ For the desire of money is the roote of all euill, which while some lusted after, they erred from the faith, and pearced themselues through with many sorowes.

¹⁶ For all that is in this world (as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life) is not of the Father, but is of this world.
