Matthew 16:19

19 I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven

Ecclesiastes 1:1-18

1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; vanity of vanities, all is vanity 3 What profit hath man of all his labour wherein he laboureth under the sun 4 One generation goeth, and another generation cometh; and the earth abideth for ever 5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he ariseth 6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it turneth about continually in its course, and the wind returneth again to its circuits 7 All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; unto the place whither the rivers go, thither they go again 8 All things are full of weariness; man cannot utter [it]: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing 9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun 10 Is there a thing whereof men say, See, this is new? it hath been already, in the ages which were before us 11 There is no remembrance of the former [generations]; neither shall there be any remembrance of the latter [generations] that are to come, among those that shall come after 12 I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem 13 And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven: it is a sore travail that God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind 15 That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered 16 I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I have gotten me great wisdom above all that were before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart hath had great experience of wisdom and knowledge 17 And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also was a striving after wind 18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow

Hebrews 6:1-20

1 Wherefore let us cease to speak of the first principles of Christ, and press on unto perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God 2 of the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment 3 And this will we do, if God permit 4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost 5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come 6 and [then] fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame 7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God 8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned 9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak 10 for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye shewed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister 11 And we desire that each one of you may shew the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end 12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself 14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee 15 And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise 16 For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation 17 Wherein God, being minded to shew more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us 19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, [a hope] both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil 20 whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God 9 not of works, that no man should glory

1 Corinthians 15:3

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures

2 Timothy 3:16

16 Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness
