¹ Now late on the sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. ² And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. ³ His appearance was as lightning, and his raiment white as snow: ⁴ and for fear of him the watchers did quake, and became as dead men. ⁵ And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which hath been crucified. ⁶ He is not here; for he is risen, even as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. ⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples, He is risen from the dead; and lo, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. ⁸ And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word. ⁹ And behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him. ¹⁰ Then saith Jesus unto them, Fear not: go tell my brethren that they depart into Galilee, and there shall they see me. ¹¹ Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city, and told unto the chief priests all the things that were come to pass. ¹² And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, ¹³ saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. ¹⁴ And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and rid you of care. ¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying was spread abroad among the Jews, [and continueth] until this day. ¹⁶ But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them. ¹⁷ And when they saw him, they worshipped [him]: but some doubted. ¹⁸ And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. ¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: ²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

¹¹ But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding-garment:

²⁴ whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. ²⁵ For David saith concerning him, I beheld the Lord always before my face; For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: ²⁶ Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; Moreover my flesh also shall dwell in hope: ²⁷ Because thou wilt not leave my soul in Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption. ²⁸ Thou madest known unto me the ways of life; Thou shalt make me full of gladness with thy countenance. ²⁹ Brethren, I may say unto you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day. ³⁰ Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set [one] upon his throne; ³¹ he foreseeing [this] spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left in Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus did God raise up, whereof we all are witnesses. ³³ Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. ³⁴ For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, ³⁵ Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. ³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God’s] own possession, that ye may shew forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. ² And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God: ⁴ and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.

¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, These which are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and whence came they?

¹¹ And there was given them to each one a white robe; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little time, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, which should be killed even as they were, should be fulfilled.

⁹ After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of [all] tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;

¹⁴ Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right [to come] to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
