Genesis 2:1-25

1 And the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them 2 And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it: because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made 4 These are the generations of the heaven and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven 5 And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground 6 but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul 8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil 10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads 11 The name of the first is Pishon: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold 12 and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone 13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Cush 14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth in front of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates 15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die 18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them: and whatsoever the man called every living creature, that was the name thereof 20 And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for man there was not found an help meet for him 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof 22 and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man 23 And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed

Romans 5:12-21

12 Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:–– 13 for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come 15 But not as the trespass, so also [is] the free gift. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound unto the many 16 And not as through one that sinned, [so] is the gift: for the judgment [came] of one unto condemnation, but the free gift [came] of many trespasses unto justification 17 For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, [even] Jesus Christ 18 So then as through one trespass [the judgment came] unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness [the free gift came] unto all men to justification of life 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous 20 And the law came in beside, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly 21 that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

Romans 1:20-27

20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, [even] his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse 21 because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four–footed beasts, and creeping things 24 Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonoured among themselves 25 for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature 27 and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due

2 Peter 3:3-6

3 knowing this first, that in the last days mockers shall come with mockery, walking after their own lusts 4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation 5 For this they wilfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God 6 by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished
