² Swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, -- they break out; and blood toucheth blood.

¹⁶ Do ye not know that ye are [the] temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwells in you?

⁷ Thou shalt not idly utter the name of Jehovah thy God; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that idly uttereth his name.

³⁴ But *I* say unto you, Do not swear at all; neither by the heaven, because it is [the] throne of God; ³⁵ nor by the earth, because it is [the] footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is [the] city of the great King. ³⁶ Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. ³⁷ But let your word be Yea, yea; Nay, nay; but what is more than these is from evil.

⁴⁵ The good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good; and the wicked [man] out of the wicked, brings forth what is wicked: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

³⁶ But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:

¹² But before all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay, that ye do not fall under judgment.

⁴ and filthiness and foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient; but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For this ye are [well] informed of, knowing that no fornicator, or unclean person, or person of unbridled lust, who is an idolater, has inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.

²⁹ Let no corrupt word go out of your mouth, but if [there be] any good one for needful edification, that it may give grace to those that hear [it].
