¹ {A Psalm of David.} Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want. ² He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters. ³ He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name`s sake. ⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. ⁵ Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. ⁶ Surely, goodness and loving-kindness shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of Jehovah for the length of the days.

¹³ we shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

⁴⁷ But that bondman who knew his own lord`s will, and had not prepared [himself] nor done his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes]; ⁴⁸ but he who knew [it] not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. And to every one to whom much has been given, much shall be required from him; and to whom [men] have committed much, they will ask from him the more.

²³ Verily I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou taken away and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says takes place, whatever he shall say shall come to pass for him. ²⁴ For this reason I say to you, All things whatsoever ye pray for and ask, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come to pass for you.

²⁸ Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him toil, working what is honest with [his] hands, that he may have to distribute to him that has need.

³³ I have coveted [the] silver or gold or clothing of no one. ³⁴ Yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my wants, and to those who were with me. ³⁵ I have shewed you all things, that thus labouring [we] ought to come in aid of the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

²⁴ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, that thus labouring [we] ought to come in aid of the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

⁵ Put to death therefore your members which [are] upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry.

¹⁵ Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him;

¹⁵ And he said to them, Take heed and keep yourselves from all covetousness, for [it is] not because a man is in abundance [that] his life is in his possessions.

¹⁹ So are the paths of every one that is greedy of gain: it taketh away the life of its possessors.

¹² All things are lawful to me, but all things do not profit; all things are lawful to me, but *I* will not be brought under the power of any.

¹⁵ Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him; ¹⁶ because all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing, and its lust, but he that does the will of God abides for eternity.

¹⁰ For the love of money is [the] root of every evil; which some having aspired after, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

⁵ [Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.

¹¹ Wealth [gotten] by vanity diminisheth; but he that gathereth by manual-labour shall increase [it].
