¹¹ Not that I speak as regards privation, for as to me *I* have learnt in those circumstances in which I am, to be satisfied in myself. ¹² I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I am initiated both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer privation. ¹³ I have strength for all things in him that gives me power.

¹⁶ And *we* have known and have believed the love which God has to us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

¹⁴ And persons engaged in military service also asked him saying, And we, what should we do? And he said to them, Oppress no one, nor accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay.

¹¹ enriched in every way unto all free-hearted liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sakes he, being rich, became poor, in order that *ye* by *his* poverty might be enriched.

²⁴ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

¹³ If therefore *ye*, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall the Father who is of heaven give [the] Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

²⁸ But we *do* know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to purpose.

¹³ I have strength for all things in him that gives me power.

⁷ [Ye] husbands likewise, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, as with a weaker, [even] the female, vessel, giving [them] honour, as also fellow-heirs of [the] grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered. ⁸ Finally, [be] all of one mind, sympathising, full of brotherly love, tender hearted, humble minded; ⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing [others], because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing. ¹⁰ For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile. ¹¹ And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it; ¹² because [the] eyes of [the] Lord [are] on [the] righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but [the] face of [the] Lord [is] against them that do evil.

¹⁰ Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

⁷ having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.

⁴ and delight thyself in Jehovah, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

¹⁵ And he said to them, Take heed and keep yourselves from all covetousness, for [it is] not because a man is in abundance [that] his life is in his possessions.

⁶ But piety with contentment *is* great gain. ⁷ For we have brought nothing into the world: [it is] [manifest] that neither can we carry anything out. ⁸ But having sustenance and covering, we will be content with these. ⁹ But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many unwise and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. ¹⁰ For the love of money is [the] root of every evil; which some having aspired after, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

¹⁸ in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;

⁵ [Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.
