³⁷ If I do not do the works of my father, do not believe me;

¹⁴ But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, ² through the pretensions of liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron, ³ who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving; ⁵ for it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

²² And have mercy on some, who doubt;
