⁹ And seeing is Leah that she stays from bearing. And taking is she Zilpah, her maid, and is giving her to Jacob for a wife. And coming is Jacob to her,

⁴ And giving him is she Bilhah, her maid, for a wife. And coming is Jacob to her.

¹ then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses concerning the case of the Cushite woman whom he took (for he had taken a Cushite woman).

⁵ In case brothers dwell together, and one of them dies, and he has no son, the wife of the dead one shall not come to the outside, to an alien man. Her brother-in-law shall come to her, and he will take her to himself as his wife and perform the levirate for her. ⁶ Then it will come to be:the firstborn whom she bears shall carry on the name of his father's dead brother so that his name may not be wiped out from Israel. ⁷ But should the man not be inclined to take his sister-in-law, then his sister-in-law will go up to the elders at the gate and say:My brother-in-law refuses to raise up a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the levirate for me. ⁸ Then the elders of his city will call to him and speak to him. But if he persists and says:I am not inclined to take her, ⁹ then his sister-in-law will come close to him before the eyes of the elders, pull his sandal off his foot, spit in his face and answer and say:Thus shall be done to the man who will not build up his brother's house. ¹⁰ And his name will be called in Israel, House of the Pulled-off Sandal.

¹⁴ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, and you tenant it and dwell in it, and you say:Let me set a king over me like all the nations who are around me, ¹⁵ then you shall set, yea set over you a king whom Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. From among your brothers shall you set a king over you. You cannot put over you a foreign man who is not of your brothers. ¹⁶ But he shall neither increase horses for himself nor cause his people to return to Egypt in order to get many more horses, for Yahweh, He has said to you:You should not again return in this way further. ¹⁷ He shall neither increase wives for himself, that his heart may not withdraw, nor increase silver and gold for himself to excess. ¹⁸ It will come to be when he is seated on the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for himself a duplicate of this law on a scroll from the one before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it will be with him, and he will read in it all the days of his life that he may learn:to fear Yahweh your Elohim, to observe all the words of this law and these statutes to obey them, ²⁰ by no means to exalt his heart above his brothers and by no means to withdraw from the instruction, neither to the right nor left, so that he may prolong his days on the throne of his kingdom, he and his sons among Israel.

¹³ And David takes again concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after his coming from Hebron, and there are born again to David sons and daughters.

¹ And there is a certain man of Ramathaim-Zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name [is] Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, and Ephrathite, ² and he has two wives, the name of the one [is] Hannah, and the name of the second Peninnah, and Peninnah has children, and Hannah has no children.

¹ And king Solomon has loved many strange women, and the daughter of Pharaoh, females of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Zidon, [and] of the Hittites, ² of the nations of which Yahweh said unto the sons of Israel, `You do not go in to them, and they do not go in to you; surely they turn aside your heart after their elohims;' to them has Solomon cleaved for love. ³ And he has women, princesses, seven hundred, and concubines three hundred; and his wives turn aside his heart. ⁴ And it comes to pass, at the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives have turned aside his heart after other elohims, and his heart has not been perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, like the heart of David his father.

⁵ And to Ashhur father of Tekoa were two wives, Helah and Naarah;"

³ And Jehoiada takes for him two wives, and he begets sons and daughters.

⁸ Sixty queens, they may be, and eighty concubines, And damsels may be without number,

¹ And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, ² Two women were daughters of one mother, ³ And they go a-whoring in Egypt, In their youth they have gone a-whoring, There they have bruised their breasts, And there they have dealt with the loves of their virginity." ⁴ And their names [are] Aholah the elder, And Aholibah her sister, And they are Mine, and bear sons and daughters. As to their names--Samaria [is] Aholah, And Jerusalem [is] Aholibah."

¹ Now, concerning what you write to me: It is ideal for a man not to be touching a woman." ² Yet, because of prostitutions, let each man have a wife for himself and each woman have her own husband." ³ Let the husband render to the wife her due, yet likewise the wife also to the husband." ⁴ The wife has not the jurisdiction of her own body, but the husband, yet likewise the husband also has not the jurisdiction of his own body, but the wife." ⁵ Do not deprive one another, except sometime it should be by agreement for a period, that you should gave leisure for prayer, and you may be the same again, lest Satan may be trying you because of your incontinence."

⁵ On this behalf I left you in Crete, that you should amend what is lacking and constitute elders city by city, as I prescribe to you." ⁶ If anyone is unimpeachable, the husband of one wife, having believing children, not under the accusation of profligacy or insubordinate -" ⁷ for the supervisor must be unimpeachable as an administrator of God, not given to self-gratification, not irritable, no toper, not quarrelsome, not avaricious;" ⁸ but hospitable, fond of that which is good, sane, just, benign, self-controlled;"

¹⁹ And Lamech is taking for himself two wives, the one named Adah, and the second named Zillah.

³⁰ and to Gideon there have been seventy sons, coming out of his loin, for he had many wives;"

¹ And these were sons of David, who were born to him in Hebron:the first-born Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess;" ² the third Absalom, son of Maachah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth Adonijah, son of Haggith;" ³ the fifth Shephatiah, of Abital; the sixth Ithream, of Eglah his wife. ⁴ Six have been borne to him in Hebron, and he reigns there seven years and six months, and thirty and three years he has reigned in Jerusalem. ⁵ And these were born to him in Jerusalem:Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon--four, of Bath-Sheba daughter of Ammiel. ⁶ also Ibhar, and Elishama, and Eliphelet, ⁷ and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, ⁸ and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine. ⁹ All [are] sons of David, apart from sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.

²¹ And Abijah strengthens himself, and takes to him fourteen wives, and begets twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters,

²¹ And Rehoboam loves Maachah daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines--for eighteen wives he has taken, and sixty concubines--and he begets twenty and eight sons, and sixty daughters.

⁸ and I give to you the house of your lord, and the wives of your lord, into your bosom, and I give to you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if little, then I add to you such and such [things].

¹⁵ In case a man should come to have two wives, the one loved and the other disliked, and they bear sons for him, the loved and the disliked, but the firstborn is the son of the disliked one, ¹⁶ then it will come to be in the day when he gives allotments to his sons of that which is his, that he should not be able to treat as firstborn the son of the loved in preference to the son of the disliked, who is the firstborn. ¹⁷ For he shall recognize the firstborn son of the disliked by giving to him a double share of all that is being found his; since he is the beginning of his virility, the customary right of the firstborn belongs to him.

¹ A son of seven years [is] Joash in his reigning, and forty years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Zibiah of Beer-Sheba. ² And Joash does that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh all the days of Jehoiada the priest. ³ And Jehoiada takes for him two wives, and he begets sons and daughters.

¹ And seven women will hold fast to one man, in that day, saying, "Our own bread will we eat, and with our own raiment will we clothe ourselves, but let us be called by your name! Gather up our reproach!"

¹ Then likened shall be the kingdom of the heavens to ten virgins, who getting their torches, came out to meet the bridegroom." ² Now five of them were stupid and five prudent. ³ For the stupid, getting their torches, got no oil with them, ⁴ yet the prudent got oil in the crocks with their torches. ⁵ Now, at the delaying of the bridegroom, they all nod and drowsed." ⁶ Now in the middle of the night a clamor occurs: 'Lo! the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' ⁷ Then roused were all those virgins, and they adorn their torches." ⁸ Now the stupid said to the prudent, 'Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.'" ⁹ Yet the prudent answered, saying, 'No, lest at some time there should not be sufficient for us and you." ¹⁰ Now, at their coming away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who are ready entered with him into the wedding festivities, and the door is locked." ¹¹ Now subsequently the rest of the virgins also are coming, saying 'Lord! Lord! Open to us!'" ¹² Yet he, answering, said, 'Verily, I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you!'" ¹³ Watch, then, for you are not aware of the day, neither the hour." ¹⁴ For it is even as a man traveling. He calls his own slaves and gives over to them his possessions. ¹⁵ And to one, indeed, he gives five talents, yet to one, two, yet to one, one; to each according to his own ability. And he travels immediately." ¹⁶ Now, being gone, the one getting the five talents trades with them and gains another five talents." ¹⁷ Similarly, also, the one with the two; he also gains another two." ¹⁸ Yet the one getting the one talent, coming away, excavates in the earth and hides his lord's silver." ¹⁹ Now, after much time, the lord of those slaves is coming and settling accounts with them." ²⁰ And, approaching, the one getting the five talents brings to him another five talents, saying, 'Lord, five talents you give over to me, Lo! another five talents do I gain with them.'" ²¹ Now his lord averred to him, 'Well done! good and faithful slave. Over a few were you faithful; over many will I place you. Enter into the joy of your lord!'" ²² Now, approaching, the one also getting the two talents said, 'Lord, two talents you give over to me, Lo! another two talents I gain with them.'" ²³ His lord averred to him, 'Well done! good and faithful slave. Over a few were you faithful; over many will I place you. Enter into the joy of your lord!'" ²⁴ Now, approaching, the one also having gotten the one talent, said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you do not sow, and gathering whence you do not scatter." ²⁵ And, being afraid, coming away, I hide your talent in the earth. Lo! you have what is yours!'" ²⁶ Now, answering, his lord said to him, 'Wicked and slothful slave! You were aware that I am reaping where I do not sow, and gathering whence I do not scatter." ²⁷ It was binding on you, then, to be depositing my silver with the bankers, and on coming, I should recover what is mine together with interest." ²⁸ Take the talent away from him then, and give it to the one who has ten talents.'" ²⁹ For to everyone who has shall be given, and he shall have a superfluity, yet from the one who has not, that also which he has shall be taken away from him;" ³⁰ and the useless slave cast out into outer darkness. there shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth. ³¹ Now, whenever the Son of Mankind may be coming in His glory, and all the holy messengers with Him, then shall He be seated on the throne of His glory, ³² and in front of Him shall be gathered all the nations. And He shall be severing them from one another even as a shepherd is severing the sheep from the kids. ³³ And He shall be standing the sheep, indeed, at His right, yet the kids at the left." ³⁴ Then shall the King be declaring to those at His right, 'Hither, blessed of My Father! Enjoy the allotment of the kingdom made ready for you from the disruption of the world." ³⁵ For I hunger and you give Me to eat' I thirst and you give Me drink; a stranger was I and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked and you clothed Me; infirm am I and you visit Me; in jail was I and you come to Me.' ³⁷ Then the just will be answering Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we perceive Thee hungering and nourish Thee, or thirsting and we give Thee drink? ³⁸ Now when did we perceive Thee a stranger and took Thee in, or naked and we clothed Thee? ³⁹ Now when did we perceive Thee infirm, or in jail, and we came to Thee?'" ⁴⁰ And, answering, the King shall be declaring to them, 'Verily, I am saying to you, In as much as you do it to one of these, the least of My brethren, you do it to Me.'" ⁴¹ Then shall He be declaring to those also at His left, 'Go from Me, you cursed, into the fire eonian, made ready for the Adversary and his messengers." ⁴² For I hunger and you do not give Me to eat; I thirst and you do not give Me drink; ⁴³ a stranger was I and you did not take Me in; naked and you did not clothe Me; infirm and in jail and you did not visit Me.' ⁴⁴ Then shall they also be answering, saying, 'Lord, when did we perceive you hungering or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or infirm, or in jail, and we did not serve you?'" ⁴⁵ Then shall He be answering them, saying, 'Verily, I am saying to you, In as much as you do it not to one of these, the least, neither do you it to Me.'" ⁴⁶ And these shall be coming away into chastening eonian, yet the just into life eonian."

¹⁰ If he is taking another for himself, he shall not diminish her meat, her covering and her cohabitation. "
