³ You shall not come to have other elohim in preference to Me. ⁴ You shall not make for yourself a carving nor any representation of that in the heavens above or that on the earth beneath, or that in the waters beneath the earth. ⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me, ⁶ yet doing kindness to thousands, to those loving Me and observing My instructions. ⁷ You shall not take up the name of Yahweh your Elohim for futility, for Yahweh shall not hold innocent him who takes up His name for futility. ⁸ You are to remember the sabbath day to hallow it. ⁹ Six days shall you serve and do all your work, ¹⁰ yet the seventh day is a sabbath to Yahweh your Elohim. You shall not do any work, you, your son or your daughter, your servant or your maidservant, your bull, your donkey or your beast, or your sojourner who is within your gates. ¹¹ For in six days Yahweh dealt with the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He stopped on the seventh day. Therefore, Yahweh blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it. ¹² Glorify your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged on the ground which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ¹³ You shall not murder. ¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery. ¹⁵ You shall not steal. ¹⁶ You shall not answer against your associate with false testimony. ¹⁷ You shall not covet the house of your associate. You shall not covet the wife of your associate, his field, his servant or his maidservant, his bull, his donkey or anything which is your associate's.

²² The lamp of the body is your eye. If, then, your eye should be single, your whole body will be luminous."

⁹ And He said to them, "Ideally are you repudiating the precept of God, that you should be keeping your tradition."

²¹ Yet be testing all, retaining the ideal." ²² From everything wicked to the perception, abstain."

¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

²⁷ for ritual clean and undefiled with God the Father is this: to be visiting the bereaved and widowed in their affliction, to be keeping oneself unspotted from the world."

¹² Happy is the man who is enduring trial, for, becoming qualified, he will be obtaining the wreath of life, which He promises to those loving Him." ¹³ Let no one, undergoing trial, be saying that "From God am I undergoing trial,for God is not tried by evils, yet He is trying no one." ¹⁴ Now each one is undergoing trial when he is drawn away and lured by his own desire. ¹⁵ Thereafter, the desire, conceiving, is bringing forth sin. Now sin, fully consummated, is teeming forth death."

²³ More than any guard-post, preserve your heart, For from it spring the outflowings of life."

²⁰ Yet He said that "That which is going out of a man, that is contaminating the man." ²¹ For from inside, out of the heart of men, are going out evil reasonings, prostitutions, thefts, murders, ²² adulteries, greed, wickedness, guile, wantonness, a wicked eye, calumny, pride, imprudence." ²³ All these wicked inside things are going out; and those are contaminating the man."

¹⁹ Now apparent are the works of the flesh, which are adultery, prostitution, uncleanness, wantonness, ²⁰ idolatry, enchantment, enmities, strife, jealousies, furies, factions, dissensions, sects, ²¹ envies, murders, drunkennesses, revelries, and the like of these, which, I am predicting to you, according as I predicted also, that those committing such things shall not be enjoying the allotment of the kingdom of God."

⁶ is not rejoicing in injustice, yet is rejoicing together with the truth,

³ I shall not set a worthless matter in front of my eyes; I hate the doing of those who swerve; It shall not cling to me.

²⁷ "You hear that it was declared, 'You shall not be committing adultery. ²⁸ Yet I am saying to you that every man looking at a woman to lust for her already commits adultery with her in his heart. ²⁹ Now, if your right eye is snaring you, wrench it out and cast it from you, for it is expedient for you that one of your members should perish and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna. ³⁰ And if your right hand is snaring you, strike it off and cast it from you, for it is expedient for you that one of your members should perish and not your whole body pass away into Gehenna."

¹¹ For the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity, ¹² training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon,

⁵ Deaden, then, your members that are on the earth: prostitution, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and greed, which is idolatry,

¹² All is allowed me, but not all is expedient. All is allowed me, but I will not be put under its authority by anything."

⁸ For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is grave, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is agreeable, whatever is renowned - if there is any virtue, and if any applause, be taking these into account."
