Genesis 6:1-22

1 (6:2) And it came to pass when men began to be numerous upon the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 (6:3) that the sons of God, having seen the daughters of men, that they were beautiful, took to themselves wives of all whom they chose. 3 (6:4) And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men forever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be one hundred and twenty years. 4 (6:5) Now the giants were upon the earth in those days; and after that when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, they bore children to them, those were the giants of old, the men of renown. 5 (6:6) And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually, 6 (6:7) that God took it to heart that He had made man upon the earth, and He pondered it deeply. 7 (6:8) And God said, I will blot out man whom I have made from the face of the earth, even man and beast, and reptiles with flying creatures of the sky, for I am grieved that I have made them. 8 (6:9) But Noah found grace before the Lord God. 9 (6:10) And these are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man; being perfect in his generation; Noah was well pleasing to God. 10 (6:11) And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 (6:12) But the earth was corrupted before God, and the earth was filled with iniquity. 12 (6:13) And the Lord God saw the earth, that it was corrupted; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. 13 (6:14) And the Lord God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me; because the earth has been filled with iniquity by them, and behold, I shall destroy them and the earth. 14 (6:15) Therefore make for yourself an ark of square timber; you shall make the ark in compartments, and you shall pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 (6:16) And thus shall you make the ark; three hundred cubits the length of the ark, and fifty cubits the breadth, and thirty cubits the height of it. 16 (6:17) You shall narrow the ark in making it, and in a cubit above you shall finish it, and the door of the ark you shall make on the side; with lower, second, and third stories you shall make it. 17 (6:18) And behold, I shall bring a flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven, and whatsoever things are upon the earth shall die. 18 (6:19) And I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall enter into the ark, and your sons and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. 19 (6:20) And of all cattle and of all reptiles and of all wild beasts, even of all flesh, you shall bring by pairs of all, into the ark, that you may feed them with yourself: male and female they shall be. 20 (6:21) Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to you, male and female, to be fed with you. 21 (6:22) And you shall take to yourself of all kinds of food which you eat, and you shall gather them to yourself, and it shall be for you and them to eat. 22 (6:23) And Noah did everything that the Lord God commanded him.

Genesis 10:8-12

8 And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be a giant upon the earth. 9 He was a giant hunter before the Lord God; therefore they say, As Nimrod the giant hunter before the Lord. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 Out of that land he came to Assyria, and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth Ir, and Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah: this is the great city.

Jeremiah 50:1-46

1 The word of the Lord which He spoke against Babylon: 2 Proclaim among the Gentiles, and cause the tidings to be heard, and suppress them not. Say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded; the fearless, the luxurious Merodach is delivered up. 3 For a nation has come up against her from the north, he shall utterly ravage her land, and there shall be none to dwell in it, neither man nor beast. 4 In those days, and at that time, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall proceed, weeping as they go, seeking the Lord their God. 5 They shall ask the way till they come to Zion, for that way shall they set their face; and they shall come and flee for refuge to the Lord their God; for the everlasting covenant shall not be forgotten. 6 My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds thrust them out, they caused them to wander on the mountains; they went from mountain to hill, they forgot their resting place. 7 All that found them consumed them. Their enemies said, Let us not leave them alone, because they have sinned against the Lord. He that gathered their fathers had a pasture of righteousness. 8 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and from the land of the Chaldeans, and go forth, and be as serpents before sleep. 9 For behold, I stir up against Babylon the gatherings of nations out of the land of the north, and they shall set themselves in array against her. From there shall she be taken, as the dart of an expert warrior shall not return empty. 10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil. All that spoil her shall be satisfied. 11 Because you rejoiced, and boasted, while plundering My heritage; because you exulted as calves in the grass, and pushed with the horn as bulls. 12 Your mother is greatly ashamed; your mother that bore you for prosperity is confounded. She is the last of the nations, desolate, 13 by reason of the Lord's anger. It shall not be inhabited, but it all shall be a desolation; and everyone that passes through Babylon shall scowl, and they shall hiss at all her plagues. 14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, all you that bend the bow; shoot at her, spare not your arrows, 15 and prevail against her. Her hands are weakened, her bulwarks are fallen, and her wall is broken down; for it is vengeance from God. Take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do to her. 16 Utterly destroy seed out of Babylon, and him that holds a sickle in time of harvest; for fear of the Grecian sword, they shall return everyone to his people, and everyone shall flee to his own land. 17 Israel is a wandering sheep; the lions have driven him out. The king of Assyria first devoured him, and afterward this king of Babylon has gnawed his bones. 18 Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will take vengeance on the king of Babylon, and upon his land, as I took vengeance on the king of Assyria. 19 And I will restore Israel to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and on Mount Ephraim and in Gilead, and his soul shall be satisfied. 20 In those days, and at that time, they shall seek for the iniquity of Israel, and there shall be none; and for the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found; for I will be merciful to them that are left 21 on the land, says the Lord. Go up against it roughly, and against them that dwell on it. Avenge, O sword, and destroy utterly, says the Lord, and do according to all that I command you. 22 A sound of war, and great destruction in the land of the Chaldeans! 23 How has the hammer of the whole earth been broken and crushed! How has Babylon become a desolation among the nations! 24 They shall come upon you, and you shall not know it, O Babylon, that you will even be taken captive. You are found and taken, because you resisted the Lord. 25 The Lord has opened His treasury, and brought forth the weapons of His anger; for the Lord God has a work in the land of the Chaldeans. 26 For her times have come. Open her storehouses; search her as a cave, and utterly destroy her; let there be no remnant of her. 27 Dry up all her fruits, and let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, and the time of their retribution. 28 A voice of men fleeing and escaping from the land of Babylon, to declare to Zion the vengeance that comes from the Lord our God. 29 Summon many against Babylon, everyone that bends the bow. Camp against her round about; let none of her people escape. Render to her according to her works, according to all that she has done, do to her; for she has resisted the Lord, the Holy God of Israel. 30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her warriors shall be cast down, says the Lord. 31 Behold, I am against you, O haughty one, says the Lord; for your day has come, and the time of your retribution. 32 And your pride shall fail, and fall, and there shall be no one to set it up again. And I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all things round about her. 33 Thus says the Lord: The children of Israel and the children of Judah have been oppressed. All those that have taken them captive have oppressed them together, for they would not let them go. 34 But their Redeemer is strong; the Lord Almighty is His name. He will enter into judgment with His adversaries, that He may destroy the earth; 35 and He will sharpen a sword against the Chaldeans, and against the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her nobles and upon her wise men. 36 A sword upon her warriors, and they shall be weakened. A sword upon their horses, and upon their chariots. 37 A sword upon their warriors and upon the mixed people in the midst of her; and they shall be as women. A sword upon the treasures, and they shall be scattered upon her water, 38 and they shall be ashamed; for it is a land of graven images; and in the islands, where they boasted. 39 Therefore shall idols dwell in the islands, and the young ostriches shall dwell in it. It shall not be inhabited anymore, forever. 40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities bordering upon them, says the Lord: no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn there. 41 Behold, a people comes from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be stirred up from the end of the earth, holding bow and dagger. 42 The people are fierce, and will have no mercy; their voices shall sound as the sea, they shall ride upon horses, prepared for war, like fire, against you, O daughter of Babylon. 43 The king of Babylon heard the sound of them, and his hands grew feeble. Anguish overcame him, pangs as of a woman in travail. 44 Behold, he shall come up as a lion from Jordan to Gaethan; for I will speedily drive them from her, and I will set all the youths against her; for who is like Me? And who will resist Me? And who is this shepherd who will stand before Me? 45 Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord, which He has taken against Babylon; and His devices, which He has devised upon the Chaldeans inhabiting it: surely lambs of their flock shall be destroyed. Surely pasture shall be cut off from them. 46 Or at the sound of the taking of Babylon the earth shall quake, and a cry shall be heard among the nations.

Micah 5:6

6 And they shall tend the Assyrian with a sword, and the land of Nimrod with her trench: and He shall deliver you from the Assyrian, when he shall come upon your land, and when he shall invade your coasts.

Revelation 18:1-24

1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was lit up from his splendor. 2 And he cried out with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every unclean and detestable bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the wealth of her luxury." 4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you participate in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 Because her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. 6 Give back to her as also she gave back, and pay back double as also she did, and according to her works. In her cup which she mixed, mix for her a double portion. 7 In as many things as she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give to her torment and sorrow; because she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am not a widow, and I shall by no means see sorrow.' 8 "On account of this her plagues will come in one day--death, sorrow, and famine. And she shall be burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who has judged her. 9 "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her shall weep and mourn over her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing from afar on account of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! Because in one hour your judgment came.' 11 "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, perfume and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the sumptuous things and the gaudy things have perished from you, and you shall by no means find them no more. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, shall stand at afar on account of the fear of her torment, both weeping and sorrowing, 16 and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, she who was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and having been gilded with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 Because in one hour such great wealth was laid waste.' And every captain, and all those sailing along the coast, and sailors, and as many as work on the sea, stood from afar 18 and were crying out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, 'Who is like this great city?' 19 "And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and sorrowing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, by which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! Because in one hour she was laid waste.' 20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her!" 21 Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence Babylon the great city shall be cast down, and shall by no means be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, and musicians, and of flutists, and of trumpeters shall by no means be heard in you anymore. And no craftsman of any craft shall by no means be found in you anymore, and the sound of a mill shall by no means be heard in you anymore. 23 And the light of a lamp shall by no means shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and of a bride shall by no means be heard in you anymore. Your merchants were the magnates of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all those who had been slain on the earth."

Revelation 17:1-18

1 Then one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and those dwelling on the earth became drunk from the wine of her fornication." 3 And he led me away in the Spirit, into a deserted place. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast being filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, gilded with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup being filled with abominations and the filthiness of the fornication of the earth. 5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. 7 But the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the Beast carrying her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The Beast which you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth shall marvel, whose name is not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the Beast that was, and is not, and shall be present. 9 Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 And there are seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And whenever he comes, he must abide for a short time. 11 And the Beast which was, and is not, is also an eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. 12 And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings who not yet have received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings for one hour with the Beast. 13 These have one purpose, and they will give their power and authority to the Beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, and elect, and faithful." 15 Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages. 16 And the ten horns which you saw, and the Beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolated and naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her up with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the Beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which has royal rule over the kings of the earth."

Revelation 21:8

8 But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all who are false shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Genesis 10:1-32

1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and sons were born to them after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Elisa, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3 And the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 And the sons of Jovan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5 From these were the islands of the Gentiles divided in their land, each according to his tongue, in their tribes and in their nations. 6 And the sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah. And the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan. 13 And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Naphtuhim, and the Enemetim, and the Lehabim, 14 and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from whom came forth the Philistine) and the Caphtorim. 15 And Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and the Hittite, 16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite, 17 and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Senite, 18 and the Aradian, and the Samarean, and the Amathite; and after this the tribes of the Canaanites were dispersed. 19 And the boundaries of the Canaanites were from Sidon till one comes to Gerar and Gaza, till one comes to Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. 20 These were the sons of Ham in their tribes according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations. 21 And to Shem himself also were children born, the father of all the sons of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder. 22 The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, and Cainan. 23 The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mesech. 24 And Arphaxad begot Cainan, and Cainan begot Salah, and Salah begot Eber. 25 And to Eber were born two sons, the name of the one was Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and the name of his brother was Joktan. 26 And Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Sarmoth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havila, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, till one comes to Sephar, a mountain of the east. 31 These were the sons of Shem in their tribes, according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations. 32 These are the tribes of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, according to their nations: of them were the islands of the Gentiles scattered over the earth after the flood.

Genesis 10:8

8 And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be a giant upon the earth.

Genesis 11:1-32

1 And all the earth had one language, and one speech. 2 And it came to pass as they moved from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 And a man said to his neighbor, Come, let us make bricks and bake them with fire. And the brick was to them for stone, and their mortar was asphalt. 4 And they said, Come, let us build to ourselves a city and tower, whose top shall be to heaven, and let us make to ourselves a name, before we are scattered abroad upon the face of all the earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, there is one race, and one language of all, and they have begun to do this, and now nothing shall fail from them of all that they have undertaken to do. 7 Come, let Us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbor. 8 And the Lord scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city and the tower. 9 On this account its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confounded the languages of all the earth, and then the Lord scattered them upon the face of all the earth. 10 And these are the generations of Shem: and Shem was one hundred years old when he begot Arphaxad, the second year after the flood. 11 And Shem lived five hundred years after he had begotten Arphaxad, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 12 And Arphaxad lived one hundred and thirty-five years, and begot Cainan. 13 And Arphaxad lived four hundred years after he had begotten Cainan, and begot sons and daughters, and died. And Cainan lived one hundred and thirty years and begot Salah; and Canaan lived three hundred and thirty years after he had begotten Salah, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 14 And Salah lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot Heber. 15 And Salah lived three hundred and thirty years after he had begotten Eber, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 16 And Eber lived one hundred and thirty-four years, and begot Peleg. 17 And Eber lived two hundred and seventy years after he had begotten Peleg, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 18 And Peleg lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot Reu. 19 And Peleg lived two hundred and nine years after he had begotten Reu, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 20 And Reu lived one hundred and thirty-two years, and begot Serug. 21 And Reu lived two hundred and seven years after he had begotten Serug, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 22 And Serug lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot Nahor. 23 And Serug lived two hundred years after he had begotten Nahor, and begot sons and daughters, and died. 24 And Nahor lived one hundred and seventy-nine years, and begot Terah. 25 And Nahor lived one hundred and twenty-five years after he had begotten Terah, and begot sons and daughters, and he died. 26 And Terah lived seventy years and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. 27 And these are the generations of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begot Lot. 28 And Haran died in the presence of Terah his father, in the land in which he was born, in the country of the Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nahor took to themselves wives; the name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nachor's wife was Milcah, daughter of Haran, and he was the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. 30 And Sarai was barren, and did not bear children. 31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot his grandson, the son of Haran, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, the wife of Abram his son, and led them forth out of the land of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan, and they came as far as Haran, and dwelt there. 32 And all the days of Terah in the land of Haran were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran.
