¹² This is my commandment: That you love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no man than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

¹² that is, that I may both give and receive com fort, while I am among you, through our common faith.

⁸ But, above all things, have fervent love one for another; for love will cover a multitude of sins. ⁹ Be hospitable, one to another, without murmuring. ¹⁰ As each has received a gift, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
