³⁶ And when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and scattered as sheep that had no shepherd.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of an gels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. ² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. ³ And though I give all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver up my body to be burned, and have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love boasts not; is not vain, ⁵ does nothing unbecoming, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, ⁶ rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails; but whether there be gifts of prophecy, they shall have an end; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall have an end. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part shall have an end. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I had the mind of a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. ¹² Now we see through a mirror, obscurely; but then, face to face; now I know in part, but then shall I know, even as I am known. ¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the great est of these is love.

⁹ The Lord does not delay concerning his promise, as some men count delay, but he is long-suffering toward us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

⁸ Finally, be all of the same mind, be sympathizing, lovers of the brethren, kind-hearted, humble-minded;

¹⁴ And when Jesus came out, he saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion for them, and cured their sick.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, ⁴ who con soles us in all our afflictions, so that we are able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

² Bear with the weaknesses of one another, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

¹² Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a merciful disposition, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering: ¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do you:

³⁴ And when Jesus came out, he saw a great multitude, and had compassion on them, because they were as sheep that had no shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

³² and be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
