Bible verses about "women" | ASV

Genesis 2:18

18 And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.

Proverbs 11:16

16 A gracious woman obtaineth honor;
And violent men obtain riches.

Proverbs 21:9

9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,
Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

Proverbs 31:26

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom;
And the law of kindness is on her tongue.

Proverbs 31:30-31

30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain;
[But] a woman that feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands;
And let her works praise her in the gates.

Proverbs 31:10-31

10 A worthy woman who can find?
For her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her,
And he shall have no lack of gain. 12 She doeth him good and not evil
All the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool and flax,
And worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchant-ships;
She bringeth her bread from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night,
And giveth food to her household,
And their task to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it;
With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength,
And maketh strong her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable;
Her lamp goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the distaff,
And her hands hold the spindle. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor;
Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household;
For all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh for herself carpets of tapestry;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh linen garments and selleth them,
And delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing;
And she laugheth at the time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom;
And the law of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household,
And eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up, and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praiseth her, saying: 29 Many daughters have done worthily,
But thou excellest them all. 30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain;
[But] a woman that feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands;
And let her works praise her in the gates.

1 Timothy 2:11-12

11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection. 12 But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness.

Galatians 3:26-29

26 For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. 28 There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one [man] in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye are Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise.

Proverbs 14:1

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house;
But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.

Titus 2:3-5

3 that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good; 4 that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 [to be] sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed:

1 Timothy 2:11-15

11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection. 12 But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression: 15 but she shall be saved through her child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety.
