³⁶ Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation;
And thy gentleness hath made me great.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, [and] will gently lead those that have their young.

⁴ Love suffereth long, [and] is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, ⁵ doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;

² with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

¹⁹ Ye know [this], my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: ²⁰ for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

But a grievous word stirreth up anger.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.

²⁴ And the Lord's servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing, ²⁵ in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth, ²⁶ and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.

¹⁵ but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: [being] ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:

² to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.
