Bible verses about "fool" | AKJV

Psalms 14:1

1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good.

Proverbs 26:3-12

3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. 4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like to him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. 6 He that sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet, and drinks damage. 7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools. 8 As he that binds a stone in a sling, so is he that gives honor to a fool. 9 As a thorn goes up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools. 10 The great God that formed all things both rewards the fool, and rewards transgressors. 11 As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly. 12 See you a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Proverbs 18:7

7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Proverbs 10:23

23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding has wisdom.

Proverbs 14:7-9

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. 9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor.

Proverbs 17:28

28 Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

Proverbs 14:16

16 A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.

Titus 3:1-11

1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men. 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. 9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 10 A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject; 11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself.

Proverbs 28:26

26 He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.

Matthew 5:22

22 But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Proverbs 18:6

6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes.

Proverbs 29:9

9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

Proverbs 26:19

19 So is the man that deceives his neighbor, and said, Am not I in sport?

Proverbs 29:11

11 A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.

Proverbs 1:7

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 18:2

2 A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
