³⁹ And going forward a little, he fell on his face, praying, and saying: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. But yet, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

²³ And he said to all: If any one will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. ²⁴ For whoever will save his life shall lose it; and whoever may lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it

¹⁹ Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom ye have from God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.

⁵ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus; ⁶ who, being in the form of God, did not account it robbery to be equal with God; ⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

¹ I BESEECH you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your rational service.

⁶ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; ⁷ casting all your care upon him, because he cares for you. ⁸ Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour; ⁹ whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. ¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a little while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

³⁵ And going forward a little, he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. ³⁶ And he said: Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; take away this cup from me; but not what I will, but what thou wilt.

¹ I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ² Every branch in me that bears not fruit, he takes it away; and every one that bears fruit, he cleanses it, that it may bear more fruit. ³ Ye are already clean, through the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, if it abide not in the vine, so neither can ye, if ye abide not in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, the same bears much fruit; because without me ye can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast forth as the branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever ye will, and it shall be done to you.

¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.

² And be not conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may discern what is the will of God, the good, and well pleasing, and perfect.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.
