John 6:50-71

50 This is the bread that comes down out of heaven, that one may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If any one eat of this bread, he shall live forever; yea, and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Jesus therefore said to them: Verily, verily, I say to you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father has sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eats me, he also shall live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down out of heaven. Not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead; he that eats of this bread shall live forever. 59 These things he said in the synagogue, while teaching in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard it, said: This is a hard saying; who can hear it? 61 But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them: Does this offend you? 62 What then if ye behold the Son of man ascending up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that makes alive, the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him. 65 And he said: For this cause I have said to you, that no one can come to me, except it be given him from the Father. 66 From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve: Will ye also go away? 68 Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and know, that thou art the Holy One of God. 70 Jesus answered them: Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil? 71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, son of Simon; for he it was that would betray him, being one of the twelve.

2 Corinthians 3:6

6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter kills, but the spirit makes alive.

Romans 8:1-18

1 THERE is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 5 For they that are according to the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it does not submit itself to the law of God, neither indeed can it; 8 and they that are in the flesh can not please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. And if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead will also quicken your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwells in you. 12 So that, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if ye live according to the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God. 15 For ye did not receive the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God; 17 and if children, also heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are of no account, in comparison with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Romans 2:6-8

6 who will render to every man according to his deeds; 7 to those who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

James 2:10

10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Titus 3:5

5 not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the bathing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, lest any one should boast.

Matthew 6:1-34

1 TAKE heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen by them; otherwise ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say to you, they have in full their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand does; 4 that thine aims may be in secret and thy Father who sees in secret will himself reward thee. 5 And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say to you, they have in full their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret will reward thee. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like to them; for your Father knows what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9 Do ye, therefore, pray after this manner: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come; thy will be done, as in heaven, so also on the earth. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as also we forgave our debtors. 13 And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. 16 And when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to fast. Verily I say to you, they have in full their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face; 18 that thou appear not to men to fast, but to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret will reward thee. 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal. 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body will be light; 23 but if thine eye be evil, thy whole body will be dark. If therefore the light that is in thee is darkness, how great the darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. Ye can not serve God and Mammon. 25 For this cause I say to you, take not thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the birds of the air, that they sow not, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 And which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, nor spin; 29 and I say to you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 And if God so clothes the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, will he not much more you, ye of little faith? 31 Take not thought therefore, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewith shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these do the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these shall be added to you. 34 Take not thought, therefore, for the morrow; for the morrow will take thought for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.

James 1:26

26 If any one thinks that he is religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Religion, pure and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: To visit the orphans and widows in their affliction; to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Mark 16:15-16

15 And he said to them: Go into all the world, and preach the good news to every creature. 16 He that believes and is immersed shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be condemned.
