²⁴ And they having come to Capernaum, those who received the half-shekel came to Peter, and said: Does not your teacher pay the half-shekel? ²⁵ He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying: What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take customs, or tribute? Of their sons, or of strangers? ²⁶ He says to him: Of strangers. Jesus said to him: Then are the sons free. ²⁷ But that we may not offend them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the fish that first comes up; and opening its mouth thou wilt find a shekel; that take, and give to them for me and thee.

⁶ And he said to them: Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast it therefore; and now they were not able to draw it, for the multitude of the fishes.

⁶ And having done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their net began to break.

¹⁴ And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, publishing the good news of the kingdom of God, ¹⁵ and saying: The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the good news. ¹⁶ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, Simon's brother, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. ¹⁷ And Jesus said to them: Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men. ¹⁸ And immediately leaving the nets, they followed him. ¹⁹ And going a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending the nets. ²⁰ And straightway he called them; and leaving their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, they went after him.

⁴ And when he ceased speaking, he said to Simon: Put out into the deep; and do ye let down your nets for a draught. ⁵ And Simon answering said to him: Master, we toiled all night and took nothing; but at thy word I will let down the net. ⁶ And having done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their net began to break.

³ Simon Peter says to them: I go a fishing. They say to him: We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into the ship; and in that night they caught nothing.

⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a net, cast into the sea, and gathering together of every kind.

¹⁹ And he says to them: Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
