Joshua 2 And Joshua the son of Nun sent from Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

H3212 [H8799] And they went, H935 [H8799] and came H2181 [H8802] into an harlot's H802 H1004 house, H8034 named H7343 Rahab, H7901 [H8799] and lodged there.

2 H559 [H8735] And it was told H4428 the king H3405 of Jericho, H559 [H8800] saying, H935 [H8804] Behold, there came H582 men H3915 in here to night H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H2658 [H8800] to search out H776 the land.

3 H4428 And the king H3405 of Jericho H7971 [H8799] sent H7343 to Rahab, H559 [H8800] saying, H3318 [H8685] Bring forth H582 the men H935 [H8802] that have come H935 [H8804] to thee, who have entered H1004 into thy house: H935 [H8804] for they have come H2658 [H8800] to search out H776 all the land.

4 H802 And the woman H3947 [H8799] took H8147 the two H582 men, H6845 [H8799] and hid H559 [H8799] them, and said H935 [H8804] thus, There came H582 men H3045 [H8804] to me, but I knew H370 not where they were:

5 H5462 [H8800] And it came to pass about the time of shutting H8179 the gate, H2822 when it was dark, H582 that the men H3318 [H8804] went out: H582 where the men H1980 [H8804] went H3045 [H8804] I know H7291 [H8798] not: pursue H310 after H4118 them quickly; H5381 [H8686] for ye shall overtake them.

6 H5927 [H8689] But she had brought them up H1406 to the roof H2934 [H8799] of the house, and hid H6086 them with the stalks H6593 of flax, H6186 [H8803] which she had laid in order H1406 upon the roof.

7 H582 And the men H7291 H310 [H8804] pursued H1870 them the way H3383 to Jordan H4569 to the fords: H7291 H310 [H8802] and as soon as they who pursued H3318 [H8804] them had gone out, H5462 [H8804] they shut H8179 the gate.

8 H7901 [H8799] And before they had lain down, H5927 [H8804] she came up H1406 to them upon the roof;

9 H559 [H8799] And she said H582 to the men, H3045 [H8804] I know H3068 that the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given H776 you the land, H367 and that your terror H5307 [H8804] hath fallen H3427 [H8802] upon us, and that all the inhabitants H776 of the land H4127 [H8738] melt H6440 because of you.

10 H8085 [H8804] For we have heard H3068 how the LORD H3001 [H8689] dried up H4325 the water H5488 of the Red H3220 sea H6440 for you, H3318 [H8800] when ye came out H4714 of Egypt; H6213 [H8804] and what ye did H8147 to the two H4428 kings H567 of the Amorites, H5676 that were on the other side H3383 of Jordan, H5511 Sihon H5747 and Og, H2763 [H8689] whom ye utterly secluded.

11 H8085 [H8799] And as soon as we had heard H3824 these things, our hearts H4549 [H8735] did melt, H6965 [H8804] neither did there remain H7307 any more spirit H376 in any man, H6440 because H3068 of you: for the LORD H430 your God, H430 he is God H8064 in heaven H4605 above, H776 and in earth beneath.

12 H7650 [H8734] Now therefore, I pray you, swear H3068 to me by the LORD, H3588 since H6213 [H8804] I have showed H2617 you mercy, H6213 [H8804] that ye will also show H2617 mercy H1 to my father's H1004 house, H5414 [H8804] and give H571 me a true H226 token:

13 H2421 [H8689] And that ye will save alive H1 my father, H517 and my mother, H251 and my brethren, H269 and my sisters, H5337 [H8689] and all that they have, and deliver H5315 our lives H4194 from death.

14 H582 And the men H559 [H8799] answered H5315 her, Our life H4191 [H8800] for yours, H5046 [H8686] if ye utter H1697 not this our business. H3068 And it shall be, when the LORD H5414 [H8800] hath given H776 us the land, H6213 [H8804] that we will deal H2617 mercifully H571 and truly with thee.

15 H3381 [H8686] Then she let them down H2256 by a cord H1157 through H2474 the window: H1004 for her house H7023 was upon the town H2346 wall, H3427 [H8802] and she dwelt H2346 upon the wall.

16 H559 [H8799] And she said H3212 [H8798] to them, Depart H2022 to the mountain, H7291 [H8802] lest the pursuers H6293 [H8799] meet H2247 [H8738] you; and hide H7969 yourselves there three H3117 days, H7291 [H8802] until the pursuers H7725 [H8800] have returned: H310 and afterward H3212 [H8799] ye may go H1870 your way.

17 H582 And the men H559 [H8799] said H5355 to her, We will be blameless H7621 of this thy oath H7650 [H8689] which thou hast made us swear.

18 H935 [H8802] Behold, when we come H776 into the land, H7194 [H8799] thou shalt bind H8615 this line H8144 of scarlet H2339 thread H2474 in the window H3381 [H8689] by which thou didst let us down: H622 [H8799] and thou shalt bring H1 thy father, H517 and thy mother, H251 and thy brethren, H1 and all thy father's H1004 household, H1004 home to thee.

19 H834 And it shall be, that whoever H3318 [H8799] shall go out H1817 of the doors H1004 of thy house H2351 into the street, H1818 his blood H7218 shall be upon his head, H5355 and we will be guiltless: H1004 and whoever shall be with thee in the house, H1818 his blood H7218 shall be on our head, H3027 if any hand be upon him.

20 H5046 [H8686] And if thou shalt utter H1697 this our business, H5355 then we will be free H7621 of thy oath H7650 [H8689] which thou hast made us to swear.

21 H559 [H8799] And she said, H1697 According to your words, H7971 [H8762] so be it. And she sent them away, H3212 [H8799] and they departed: H7194 [H8799] and she bound H8144 the scarlet H8615 line H2474 in the window.

22 H3212 [H8799] And they went, H935 [H8799] and came H2022 to the mountain, H3427 [H8799] and abode H7969 there three H3117 days, H7291 [H8802] until the pursuers H7725 [H8804] had returned: H7291 [H8802] and the pursuers H1245 [H8762] sought H1870 them throughout all the way, H4672 [H8804] but found them not.

23 H8147 So the two H582 men H7725 [H8799] returned, H3381 [H8799] and descended H2022 from the mountain, H5674 [H8799] and passed over, H935 [H8799] and came H3091 to Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H5608 [H8762] and told H4672 [H8802] him all things that befell them:

24 H559 [H8799] And they said H3091 to Joshua, H3588 Truly H3068 the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given H3027 into our hands H776 all the land; H3427 [H8802] for even all the inhabitants H776 of the land H4127 [H8738] do melt H6440 because of us.
