Jeremiah 9 O that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

2 H5414 [H8799] O that H4057 I had in the wilderness H4411 a lodging place H732 [H8802] of wayfaring men; H5800 [H8799] that I might leave H5971 my people, H3212 [H8799] and go H5003 [H8764] from them! for they are all adulterers, H6116 an assembly H898 [H8802] of treacherous men.

3 H1869 [H8686] And they bend H3956 their tongues H7198 like their bow H8267 for lies: H1396 [H8804] but they are not valiant H530 for the truth H776 upon the earth; H3318 [H8804] for they proceed H7451 from evil H7451 to evil, H3045 [H8804] and they know H5002 [H8803] not me, saith H3068 the LORD.

4 H8104 [H8734] Take ye heed H376 every one H7453 of his neighbour, H982 [H8799] and trust H251 ye not in any brother: H251 for every brother H6117 [H8800] will utterly H6117 [H8799] supplant, H7453 and every neighbour H1980 [H8799] will walk H7400 with slanders.

5 H2048 [H8762] And they will deceive H376 every one H7453 his neighbour, H1696 [H8762] and will not speak H571 the truth: H3925 [H8765] they have taught H3956 their tongue H1696 [H8763] to speak H8267 lies, H3811 [H8738] and weary H5753 [H8687] themselves to commit crookedness.

6 H3427 [H8800] Thy habitation H8432 is in the midst H4820 of deceit; H4820 through deceit H3985 [H8765] they refuse H3045 [H8800] to know H5002 [H8803] me, saith H3068 the LORD.

7 H559 [H8804] Therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H6884 [H8802] Behold, I will smelt H974 [H8804] them, and try H6213 [H8799] them; for how shall I do H6440 for H1323 the daughter H5971 of my people?

8 H3956 Their tongue H2671 is as an arrow H7819 [H8803] shot out; H1696 [H8765] it speaketh H4820 deceit: H1696 [H8762] one speaketh H7965 peaceably H7453 to his neighbour H6310 with his mouth, H7130 but in his inward part H7760 [H8799] he lieth H696 in wait.

9 H6485 [H8799] Shall I not punish H5002 [H8803] them for these things? saith H3068 the LORD: H5315 shall not my breath H5358 [H8691] be avenged H1471 on such a nation as this?

10 H2022 For the mountains H5375 [H8799] will I take up H1065 a weeping H5092 and wailing, H4999 and for the habitations H4057 of the wilderness H7015 a lamentation, H3341 [H8738] because they are burned up, H376 so that none H5674 [H8802] can pass H8085 [H8804] through them; neither can men hear H6963 the voice H4735 of the cattle; H5775 both the fowl H8064 of the heavens H929 and the beast H5074 [H8804] have fled; H1980 [H8804] they are gone.

11 H5414 [H8804] And I will make H3389 Jerusalem H1530 heaps, H4583 and a den H8577 of dragons; H5414 [H8799] and I will make H5892 the cities H3063 of Judah H8077 desolate, H3427 [H8802] without an inhabitant.

12 H2450 Who is the wise H376 man, H995 [H8799] that may understand H6310 this? and who is he to whom the mouth H3068 of the LORD H1696 [H8765] hath spoken, H5046 [H8686] that he may declare H776 it, for what the land H6 [H8804] perisheth H3341 [H8738] and is burned up H4057 like a wilderness, H5674 [H8802] that none passeth through?

13 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] saith, H5800 [H8800] Because they have forsaken H8451 my law H5414 [H8804] which I set H6440 at the face of H8085 [H8804] them, and have not obeyed H6963 my voice, H1980 [H8804] neither walked in it;

14 H3212 [H8799] But have walked H310 after H8307 the imagination H3820 of their own heart, H310 and after H1168 Baalim, H1 which their fathers H3925 [H8765] taught them:

15 H559 [H8804] Therefore thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H398 [H8688] Behold, I will feed H5971 them, even this people, H3939 with wormwood, H4325 and give them water H7219 of gall H8248 [H8689] to drink.

16 H6327 [H8689] I will scatter H1471 them also among the nations, H1 whom neither they nor their fathers H3045 [H8804] have known: H7971 [H8765] and I will send H2719 a sword H310 after H3615 [H8763] them, till I have consumed them.

17 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H995 [H8708] Consider H7121 [H8798] ye, and call H6969 [H8789] for the mourning women, H935 [H8799] that they may come; H7971 [H8798] and send H2450 for skilful H935 [H8799] women, that they may come:

18 H4116 [H8762] And let them make haste, H5375 [H8799] and take up H5092 a wailing H5869 for us, that our eyes H3381 [H8799] may run down H1832 with tears, H6079 and our eyelids H5140 [H8799] gush out H4325 with waters.

19 H6963 For a voice H5092 of wailing H8085 [H8738] is heard H6726 out of Zion, H7703 [H8795] How are we laid waste! H3966 we are greatly H954 [H8804] pale, H5800 [H8804] because we have forsaken H776 the land, H4908 because our dwellings H7993 [H8689] have cast us out.

20 H8085 [H8798] Yet hear H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD, H802 O ye women, H241 and let your ear H3947 [H8799] receive H1697 the word H6310 of his mouth, H3925 [H8761] and teach H1323 your daughters H5092 wailing, H802 and every one H7468 her neighbour H7015 lamentation.

21 H4194 For death H5927 [H8804] hath come up H2474 into our windows, H935 [H8804] and hath entered H759 into our palaces, H3772 [H8687] to cut off H5768 the children H2351 from outside, H970 and the young men H7339 from the streets.

22 H1696 [H8761] Speak, H5002 [H8803] Thus saith H3068 the LORD, H5038 Even the dead bodies H120 of men H5307 [H8804] shall fall H1828 as refuse H6440 upon the open H7704 field, H5995 and as the handful H310 after H7114 [H8802] the harvestman, H622 [H8764] and none shall gather them.

23 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD, H2450 Let not the wise H1984 [H8691] man boast H2451 in his wisdom, H1368 neither let the mighty H1984 [H8691] man boast H1369 in his might, H6223 let not the rich H1984 [H8691] man boast H6239 in his riches:

24 H1984 [H8693] But let him that boasteth H1984 [H8691] boast H7919 [H8687] in this, that he understandeth H3045 [H8800] and knoweth H3068 me, that I am the LORD H6213 [H8802] who exercise H2617 mercy, H4941 judgment, H6666 and righteousness, H776 in the earth: H2654 [H8804] for in these things I delight, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD.

25 H3117 Behold, the days H935 [H8802] come, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD, H6485 [H8804] that I will punish H4135 [H8803] all them who are circumcised H6190 with the uncircumcised;

26 H4714 Egypt, H3063 and Judah, H123 and Edom, H1121 and the sons H5983 of Ammon, H4124 and Moab, H7112 [H8803] and all that are in the utmost H6285 corners, H3427 [H8802] that dwell H4057 in the wilderness: H1471 for all these nations H6189 are uncircumcised, H1004 and all the house H3478 of Israel H6189 are uncircumcised H3820 in the heart.
