²⁴ And when they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, Thou art God, who hast made heaven and earth, and sea, and all things therein:

¹¹ And they were filled with confusion: and consulted together, what they might do to Jesus. ¹² And in those days He went out to a mountain to pray, and He continued all night in prayer to God.

²⁵ Now in the middle of the night Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, and the prisoners heard them.

⁸ For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befel us in Asia, that we were exceedingly pressed above our strength, so that we despaired even of life: ⁹ but we had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead: ¹⁰ who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver, in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us: ¹¹ you also assisting by prayer for us, that the favor obtained for us by the prayers of many might be thankfully acknowledged by many on our account.

¹⁶ Be always joyful. ¹⁷ Pray continually. ¹⁸ In every circumstance be thankful; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that by me the gospel might be fully spread, and that all the nations might hear: and so I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory throughout all ages. Amen.
