²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He hath given us a charge to do.

³⁹ Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

⁷ And there was a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him.

²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him, whom He hath sent.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; ---as I have loved you, that ye also love one another: for by this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,

¹ Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.

¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

³ and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thine house.

² even as Christ hath loved us, and given Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet perfume.

⁹ But as to brotherly love, ye need not that I write unto you; for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

¹⁵ It is a truth highly to be believed, and worthy to be received by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners:---of whom I am one of the chief.

²² Having therefore purified your souls by obedience to the truth, through the Spirit, to brotherly love unfeigned, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

⁸ having above all things fervent love to each other; for love will cover a multitude of sins.

⁸ though I write it again as a new commandment, which is truth in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. ⁹ Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness: ¹⁰ whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling.

¹¹ for this is the injunction which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother;

²¹ And we have this commandment from Him, that he, who loveth God, should love his brother also.
