⁹ And he said unto them, Well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may confirm your own tradition!

³ But he answered and said, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, [It is] a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, ⁶ He shall not relieve his father or mother. Thus have ye made the word of God of none effect by your tradition.

³ For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash hands often, eat not bread, holding the tradition of the elders.

¹³ Making the word of God of none effect through your foolish tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

³¹ Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
