² To speak evil of no man, not to be quarrelsome, to be gentle, shewing all meekness toward all men.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest to your souls.

⁵ Let your gentleness be known to all men; the Lord is at hand.

⁵ Then said Paul, I was not aware, brethren, that it was the high priest; for it is written, Thou shalt not revile the ruler of thy people.

¹⁰ nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor revilers, nor the rapacious shall inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁹ For though I am free from all men, I made myself the servant of all, that I might gain the more.

¹ Now I Paul myself, who when present am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you, intreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ,

²⁰ For I fear lest when I come, I should not find you such as I would, and lest I should be found by you such as ye would not: lest there should be contentions, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults, Lest my God should humble me when I come to you again,

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fidelity,

¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in any fault, ye who are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

¹⁰ Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good unto all men; but especially to them who are of the houshold of faith.

² With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering,

³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking be put away from you with all malice.

¹² Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering: ¹³ Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

⁷ But we were gentle in the midst of you, even as a nurse cherisheth her own children.

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brethren, warn the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be long suffering toward all men. ¹⁵ See that none render to any man evil for evil, but ever follow that which is good, both to one another and to all men.

³ Not given to wine, no striker, not desirous of filthy gain, but gentle, patient, not loving money;

¹¹ In like manner their wives must be serious, not slanderers, vigilant, faithful in all things.

²⁴ And a servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle toward all men, ²⁵ apt to teach, patient of evil, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if haply God may give them repentance, to the acknowledging of the truth;

¹⁹ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. ²⁰ For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,

¹¹ Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law. But if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

¹ Wherefore laying aside all wickedness, and all guile, and dissimulation, and envies,

¹⁷ Honour all men, Love the brotherhood, Fear God, ¹⁸ Honour the king, Servants be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

⁸ Finally, Be ye all of one mind, sympathizing with each other, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

¹⁰ For he that loveth life and desireth to see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips, that they speak no guile:

⁴ Wherein they think it strange, that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,

¹⁰ But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise government: presumptuous, self-willed; they are not afraid to rail at dignities:

⁸ In like manner these dreamers also defile the flesh, despise authority, rail at dignities.

¹⁰ But these rail at all the things which they know not: and all the things which they know naturally, as the brute beasts, in these they are defiled.
