¹⁸ The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

⁸ The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his position.

³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour: I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you. ⁴ Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honourable, and I have loved you: therefore will I give men for you, and people for your life.
