⁹ And he said to them, You fully reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.

³ But he answered and said to them, Why do you transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, Honour your father and mother: and, He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death. ⁵ But you say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, Whatever of mine might benefit you is a gift to God; ⁶ Then he is free not to honour his father or his mother. Thus have you made the commandment of God void by your tradition.

³ (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands, thus holding to the tradition of the elders.

¹³ Thus making the word of God invalid through your tradition, which you have handed down: and you do many such things.

³¹ Do we then make the law void through faith? Not at all: rather, we establish the law.
