¹¹ But when they bring you to trial, do not worry about what you shall say: but whatever is given to you in that hour, speak that: for it is not you who speaks, but the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you shall speak: for it shall be given to you in that hour what you shall speak. ²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. ²¹ And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

⁹ But take heed for yourselves: for they will deliver you up to councils; and you shall be beaten in the synagogues: and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them.

¹¹ And when they bring you to the synagogues, and to magistrates, and authorities, take no thought of how you shall defend yourself, or what you shall say: ¹² For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

¹⁴ Therefore, settle it in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how you shall answer: ¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist or refute.

²⁷ John answered, A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given to him from heaven.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let him go.

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, You rulers of the people, and elders, ⁹ If we are to be examined this day about a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he was made well; ¹⁰ Then let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him does this man stand here before you well. ¹¹ This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, but which has become the very cornerstone. ¹² And there is salvation in no one else: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved. ¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ And beholding the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. ¹⁵ But when they had commanded them to go aside, out of the council, they conferred among themselves, ¹⁶ Saying, What shall we do with these men? for that a notable miracle has indeed been done by them is apparent to everyone who lives in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. ¹⁷ But that it may spread no further among the people, let us sternly warn them, that they speak no more to any man in this name. ¹⁸ And they called them, and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, judge for yourselves. ²⁰ But we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. ²¹ So when they had threatened them further, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people: for everyone glorified God for what had been done. ²² For the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was performed.

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

¹⁰ But they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke.

¹⁵ And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

¹³ Of these things we speak, not in words taught by man's wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

⁵ Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

¹⁹ And for me, that words may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in chains: that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and without reproach; and it shall be given him.

¹² It was revealed to them that they did not serve themselves, but you, in the things which have now been made known to you by those who preached the gospel to you through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; things into which angels desire to look.
