²¹ Christ will, through his power, bring everything under his authority. He will change our humble bodies and make them like his glorified (glorious) body (literally and figuratively: body of his glory). He is able to subject all things to himself.

⁸ He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. He will take away the disgrace of His people from the earth. Jehovah has spoken!

¹⁹ But your dead will live. Their bodies will rise. You, who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.

¹⁴ »I will ransom them from the power of the grave. I will redeem them from death! O death, where are your stings (plagues)? O grave, where is your destruction (devastation)? Compassion will be concealed from my eyes. (1 Co 15:54-57)

²⁹ Jesus answered: »You are mistaken! You do not know the scriptures or the power of God.

² While they watched, Jesus’ appearance changed (transformed) (transfigured) in their presence. His face was as bright as the sun and his clothes became as white as the light.

¹⁸ Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying: »All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

²⁵ »Truly I tell you, the hour is coming when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear (listen) (understand) will live. ²⁶ »The Son has life in himself just as the Father has life in himself. For the Father gave him life. ²⁷ »And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ »Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. ²⁹ »They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment.

²⁴ Martha exclaimed: »I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.« ²⁵ Jesus said: »I am the resurrection and the life. He who puts active faith in me will live, even if he dies. ²⁶ »Whoever lives and puts active faith in me will never die. Do you believe this?«

²⁹ Those he first recognized, he ordained in advance that they be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

²⁵ For he (Christ) must rule as king until he (God) puts all enemies under his feet (his control). ⁴² So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption. It is raised in incorruption. ⁴³ It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness and it is raised in power. ⁴⁴ It is sown a natural body and it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ Thus it is written: »The first man Adam was made a living being.« The last Adam became a life giving spirit! ⁴⁶ How is it the first is not spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man is from the earth, earthy: the second man is from heaven. ⁴⁸ As is the earthy so are those who are of the earth. And as is the heavenly, so are those who are of heaven. ⁴⁹ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. ⁵⁰ Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Corruption may not inherit incorruption. ⁵¹ Behold, I show you a secret. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, ⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last reverberation of the trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ⁵³ This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ When this corruptible shall be clothed with (Greek: enduo: dressed, put on) incorruption, and this mortal shall be clothed with immortality, then the saying will come true: »Death is swallowed up in victory.« ⁵⁵ »O death, where is your sting (power to hurt)? O grave, where is your victory?« ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

¹⁹ and what the exceeding greatness of his power is toward us who believe, according to the operation of his mighty strength. ²⁰ He operated in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places.

⁴ When Christ, who is our life, will be made known, then you will also be made known with him in glory.

² Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that when he is revealed we will be like him. We will see him just as he is.

⁸ »I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,« says Jehovah (YHWH) God, »the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty (all ruling) (universal sovereign).« (Isaiah 48:12)

¹³ There was someone like the Son of man in the midst of the seven lamp stands. He was clothed with a garment that reached down to the feet, and girded at the chest with a golden girdle. ¹⁴ His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were like a flame of fire. ¹⁵ His feet were like fine brass glowing in a furnace. His voice sounded like many rushing waters. ¹⁶ In his right hand he held seven stars. A sharp two-edged sword came out of his mouth. His appearance was like the shinning sun in full strength. ¹⁷ When I saw him, I fell as dead at his feet. He laid his right hand on me and said: »Do not fear. I am the first and the last: ¹⁸ »I am alive! I was dead and, behold, I am alive forever, Amen. I have the keys of death and the grave. ¹⁹ »Write the things that you have seen and the things that are and the things that will be. ²⁰ »This is the secret of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lamp stands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven congregations. The seven lamp stands that you saw are the seven congregations.«

¹¹ I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it. From before him the earth and heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. ¹² I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. The books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ The sea gave up the dead in it. Death and the grave delivered up the dead in them. Every man was judged according to his works. ¹⁴ Death and the grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death. ¹⁵ Whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled (thrust) (thrown) into the lake of fire.
