1 Corinthians 1:18-29

18 For the preaching of the stake is foolishness to those who perish. It is the power of God to us who are saved. 19 It is written: »I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.« (Isaiah 29:14) 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 This is the wisdom of God that the world through its wisdom did not come to know God. God was well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 Indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom. 23 We preach Christ impaled. It is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the nations! 24 To those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, it is Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 Consider your calling, brothers. Not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 Instead God chose the foolish things of the world to confuse (shame) the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to confuse (shame) the things that are mighty. 28 God also chose the base things of the world, and things which are despised, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are. 29 No human being should boast before God.

1 Corinthians 2:6-8

6 How is it we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who come to nothing (are doomed to destruction)? 7 We speak the wisdom of God in a secret, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the ages (generations and human entities) for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age knew (understood) for had they known it they would not have impaled the glorious Lord (esteemed Master).

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. It is written: »He catches the wise in their own craftiness (deception).« (Job 5:13) 20 And again: »Jehovah knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain (useless) (empty).« (Psalm 94:11)

2 Corinthians 3:14

14 Their minds were blinded. Until this day the same veil remains at the reading of the old covenant. It is not revealed to them that Christ voided it.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6

3 If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who perish. 4 The god of this age (world) (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement) has blinded the minds of unbelievers that the light of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them. 5 We do not preach about ourselves, but about Christ Jesus as Lord. We are your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 God said: Light will shine out of darkness. He shined in our hearts. He gave the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face (presence) ((person) of Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

13 We always have to thank God for you, brothers. Jehovah loves you and we thank God that in the beginning he chose you to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this he called you through our good news. This is so you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
