⁵ God called the light day. He called the darkness night. There was evening and there was morning, one day.

⁹ »After all we were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are a mere shadow.

⁴ »Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

³ Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, all shining stars. ⁴ Praise him, you highest heaven and the water above the sky. ⁵ Let them praise the name of Jehovah for they were created by his command.

¹⁹ We have the word of prophecy made sure (steadfast) (firm)! You do well that you pay attention [to God’s Word] as you would to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the daystar rises, in your hearts.
