¹⁵ We tell you this by God’s Word, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who are asleep.

¹ A man of God from Judah went to Bethel. He arrived there while Jeroboam was at the altar ready to offer a sacrifice.

⁹ I was ordered by the word of Jehovah, he said: »You are not to take food or a drink of water, and you are not to go back the way you came.«

¹⁷ »Jehovah said to me: ‘You are not to take food or water there, or go back again by the way you came.’« ¹⁸ Then he said: »I am a prophet like you. An angel said to me by the word of Jehovah, Take him back with you and give him food and water.« But he lied to him.

²² but have come back, and have taken food and water in this place where he said you were to take no food or water; your dead body will not be put to rest with your fathers.’«

³⁵ A man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbors by the word of Jehovah: »Give me a wound.« But the man would not.

²⁵ He said: »Yes.« When he entered the house, Jesus said to him: »What is your opinion, Simon? Who pays the tax assessed by the kings of the earth? Is it from their sons or from other people?«

¹⁴ We know that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you.

⁵¹ Behold, I show you a secret. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, ⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last reverberation of the trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ⁵³ This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

¹⁹ Who is our hope, or joy, or crown of exultation? Is it not you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming?
