² Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.

³⁹ The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at evening:

⁴¹ The other lamb you shall offer at evening, and shall do to it according to the meal offering of the morning, and according to its drink offering, for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD. ⁴² It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.

⁷ Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it. ⁸ When Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations. ⁹ You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering; and you shall pour no drink offering on it.

³⁴ The LORD said to Moses, "Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight; ³⁵ and you shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy: ³⁶ and you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most holy. ³⁷ The incense which you shall make, according to its composition you shall not make for yourselves: it shall be to you holy for the LORD. ³⁸ Whoever shall make any like that, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people."

¹ And the two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his censer and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them. ² And fire came forth from before the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

¹¹ "Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself. ¹² He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: ¹³ and he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die.

³⁵ Fire came forth from the LORD, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.

⁴⁶ Moses said to Aaron, "Take your censer, and put fire from off the altar in it, and lay incense on it, and carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the LORD. The plague has begun." ⁴⁷ Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and look, the plague has begun among the people: and he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people. ⁴⁸ He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

³⁶ It happened at the time of the offering up of the offering, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

⁴ Then were assembled to me everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of their trespass of the captivity; and I sat confounded until the evening offering.

³ LORD, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and watch.

² Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

⁴ So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.

² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary. Praise the LORD.

⁸ The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

²¹ while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came to me in my weariness about the time of the evening sacrifice.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the nations," says the LORD of hosts.
