⁴³ Why do ye not knowe my speache? Euen because ye cannot abyde the hearynge of my wordes.

⁵ Wycked men discerue not the thynge that is ryght, but they that seke after the Lord, discusse al thynges.

⁹ And so he sayde: go, and tell thys people: ye shall heare in dede, but ye shall not vnderstande, ye shall playnelye se, & not perceyue.

¹⁸ Yet men nether considre ner vnderstande, because their eyes are stopped, that they can not se: and their hertes, that they cannot perceyue.

¹⁰ But vnto whome shall I speake, whome shall I warne that he maye take hede? Theyr eares are so vncircumcyced, that they maye not heare. Beholde, they take the worde of God but for a scorne, & haue no luste therto.

⁹ Who so is wyse, shall vnderstande thys: & he that is ryght instructe, wyll regarde it. For the wayes of the Lorde are ryghteous, suche as be Godlye wil walcke in them: As for the wicked, they wyll stomble therin.

¹² But they knowe not the thoughtes of the Lorde, they vnderstande not hys councell, that shal gather them together as the sheeues in the barne.

⁴³ I am come in my fathers name, and ye receyue me not. If another shall come in his owne name, him wyll ye receyue.

⁶⁰ Many therfore of his disciples, when they had hearde this, sayd this is anhearde saiynge: who can abide the hearinge of it?

¹⁷ If any man wil do his wyll he shall knowe of the doctryne, whither it be of God, or whither I speake of my selfe.

²⁷ Howe be it, they vnderstode not that he spake of hys father.

³⁹ Therfore coulde they not beleue, because that Esayas sayth agayne: ⁴⁰ he hath blynded theyr eyes and hardened theyr hertes, that they shoulde not se with theyr eyes, and vnderstand with theyr hertes, and shoulde be conuerted, and I shoulde heale them.

⁵¹ Ye styfe necked, and of vncyrcumcysed hertes and eares, ye haue al wayes resisted the holye ghoste as your fathers dyd, so do ye.

¹¹ there is none that vnderstandeth, there is none that seketh after God,

⁷ Because that the fleshlye minde is enemy agaynste God: for it is not obediente to the lawe of God, neyther can be. ⁸ So then they that are geuen to the fleshe, can not please God.
