¹ And He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.

¹ And when He had called to Him His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. ² And the names of the twelve apostles are these: First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee and John his brother; ³ Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax-collector; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus; ⁴ Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. ⁵ Jesus sent out these twelve, commanding them, saying, Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans.

¹⁹ And I will give the keys of the kingdom of Heaven to you. And whatever you may bind on earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven, and whatever you may loose on earth shall occur, having been loosed in Heaven.

¹³ And He went up into a mountain and called near those whom He would. And they came to Him. ¹⁴ And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them out to proclaim, ¹⁵ and to have authority to heal sicknesses, and to cast out demons. ¹⁶ And He put on Simon the name Peter. ¹⁷ And He put on James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, the names Boanerges, which is, the Sons of Thunder. ¹⁸ And He appointed Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite, ¹⁹ and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And they went into a house.

⁷ And He called the Twelve and began to send them out by two and two. And He gave them authority over unclean spirits, ⁸ and commanded them that they take nothing in the way, except only a staff; no bag, no bread, no copper in the belt, ⁹ but tying on sandals, and not to put on two tunics. ¹⁰ And He said to them, Wherever you enter into a house, abide there until you depart from that place. ¹¹ And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city. ¹² And they went out and proclaimed that men should repent. ¹³ And they cast out many demons, and anointed many who were sick with oil, and healed them.

¹⁷ And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; ¹⁸ they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.

¹³ And when it was day, He called His disciples. And He chose twelve of them, whom He also named apostles: ¹⁴ Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; ¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alpheus, and Simon who was called Zelotes; ¹⁶ Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also became the betrayer.

¹⁹ Behold, I give to you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the authority of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.

¹² Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me, the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father.

⁸ But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

¹⁶ And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, this one whom you see and know, His name made firm. And the faith which came through Him has given him this perfect soundness before you.

³⁰ by stretching forth of Your hand for healing, and miracles, and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy child Jesus.

³⁴ And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you; rise up and spread for yourself! And he arose immediately.
