⁶ He will not keep alive one who is wicked, but gives right to the afflicted.

²² You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. ²³ If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry. ²⁴ And My wrath shall become hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your sons fatherless.

¹⁵ But He saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

²² Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame; and the tent of the wicked shall be no more.

⁷ Why do the wicked live? They grow old and become mighty in power. ⁸ Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes. ⁹ Their houses are in peace, without fear; nor is the rod of God on them.

³⁰ that the wicked is kept for the day of calamity? They shall be brought to the day of wrath.

¹² For I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to help him. ¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I caused the widow's heart to sing. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. ¹⁶ I was a father to the poor; and the cause which I did not know, I searched out. ¹⁷ I broke the fangs of the wicked, and plucked the prey out of his teeth.

¹² For He remembers them, the seekers of bloodshed; He forgets not the cry of the humble.

¹⁴ You have seen it; for You behold mischief and vexation, to repay it with Your hand. The poor commits himself to You; You are the Helper of the fatherless. ¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and the evil one; seek out his wickedness, until You find none.

²³ But You, O God, will bring them down into the pit of ruin; bloody and deceitful men shall not live half their days; but I will trust in You.

⁴ He shall judge the poor of the people; He shall save the children of the needy, and shall crush in pieces the cruel one.

¹² For He shall deliver the needy when he cries; and the poor with no helper. ¹³ He shall have pity on the poor and needy and shall save the souls of the needy. ¹⁴ He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence; and their blood shall be precious in His sight.

¹ A Psalm of Asaph. God stands in the congregation of the mighty; in the midst of the gods He judges. ² How long will you judge unjustly and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah. ³ Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. ⁴ Deliver the poor and needy; save them out of the hand of the wicked.

¹² I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted and the right of the poor.

²² Do not rob the poor, because he is poor; nor press down the afflicted in the gate; ²³ for Jehovah will plead their cause, and strip the soul of those who plunder them.

⁴ But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and shall decide with uprightness for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

¹ Righteous are You, O Jehovah, that I might contend with You; yet let me speak with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are all those happy who deal treacherously? ² You have planted them; yea, they take root. They grow, yea, they make fruit. You are near in their mouth and far from their reins.

⁹ The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust for a day of judgment, to be punished,
