⁹ And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.

⁷ He stretches out the north over the empty place, and He hung the earth on nothing.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is Jehovah's, and the fullness of it; the world, and those who dwell in it. ² For He has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.

⁷ He gathered the waters of the sea like a heap, setting the depths in storehouses.

⁵ The sea is His, and He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.

³ He lays the beams of His upper rooms in the waters. He sets the clouds as His chariots; He walks on the wings of the wind;

⁵ He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever. ⁶ You covered the deep as with a robe; the waters stand above the mountains. ⁷ At Your rebuke they flee; at the voice of Your thunder they hurry away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which You have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over, so that they do not turn again to cover the earth.

⁵ To Him who by wisdom made the heavens; for His mercy endures forever. ⁶ To Him who stretched out the earth above the waters; for His mercy endures forever.

²⁸ when He set the clouds above; when He made the strong fountains of the deep; ²⁹ when He gave to the sea its limit that the waters should not pass His command; when He appointed the foundations of the earth;

⁷ All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; to the place from where the rivers come, there they return again.

²² Do you not fear Me? says Jehovah. Will you not tremble at My presence, I who have placed the sand for the boundary of the sea by a never-ending decree, so that it cannot pass it? And though they toss themselves, yet they cannot prevail; though its waves roar, yet they cannot pass over it?

⁹ And he said to them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

⁵ For this is hidden from them by their willing it, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of the water, and through water, being held together by the Word of God,

⁶ and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that there should no longer be time.
