¹⁵ For the law works out wrath; for where no law is, neither is transgression.

¹⁴ And, behold, you have risen up in your fathers' stead. an increase of sinful men, to add still more to the heat of Jehovah toward Israel!

²⁰ Jehovah will not be willing to forgive him, for then Jehovah's anger and His zeal shall smoke, and His zeal shall be against that man, and all the curses written in this book shall lie upon him. And Jehovah shall blot out his name from under the heavens. ²¹ And Jehovah shall set him apart to evil, out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law; ²² so that the generation to come, your sons who rise after you, and the foreigner who comes in from a distant land, shall say when they see the plagues of that land, and its sicknesses which Jehovah shall send into it, ²³ The whole land shall be burned with brimstone and salt; it shall not be sown, nor shall it sprout; nor shall there be any herb in it. It shall be like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overthrew in His anger and in His fury. ²⁴ Yes, all the nations shall say, Why has Jehovah done this to this land? For what is the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt. ²⁶ For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods which they did not know, and who had not given to them any portion. ²⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book. ²⁸ And Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger and wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it this day.

¹³ Go, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, as to the words of this book that has been found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that has been kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.

⁸ Clothe yourselves with sackcloth for this, wail and howl. For the fierce anger of Jehovah has not turned back from us.

²² You have called my terrors all around, as in a day of appointment; and there was not an escaped one or a survivor in the day of the anger of Jehovah. Those whom I have nursed and multiplied, my enemy has consumed.

¹⁹ They shall throw their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be an impure thing. Their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Jehovah. They shall not satisfy their soul, and they shall not fill their bowels, for their iniquity has become a stumbling-block for them .

¹⁸ Their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Jehovah. But all the earth shall be consumed by the fire of His jealousy. For He shall make a full, yea, a speedy end of all the dwellers in the land.

³⁶ The one believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

²² If I had not come and had not spoken to them, they had no sin. But now they do not have excuse as to their sin.

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent, ³¹ because He set a day in which "He is going to judge the habitable world in righteousness," by a Man whom He appointed; having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead. Psa. 9:8

¹⁷ for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, "But the just shall live by" "faith." Hab. 2:4

⁵ But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart, do you treasure up to yourself wrath in a day of wrath, and revelation of a righteous judgment of God? ⁶ He "will give to each according to his works:" LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12

¹² For as many as sinned without Law will also perish without Law. And as many as sinned within Law will be judged through Law. ¹³ For not the hearers of the Law are just with God, but the doers of the Law shall be justified.

¹⁹ But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. ²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

¹³ For sin was in the world until Law, but sin is not charged where there is no law;

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded, ²¹ that as sin ruled in death, so also grace might rule through righteousness to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁷ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be! But I did not know sin except through law; for also I did not know lust except the law said, "You shall not lust." Ex. 20:17 ⁸ But sin taking occasion through the commandment worked every lust in me; for apart from law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I was alive apart from law once, but the commandment came, and sin came alive, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which was to life, this was found to be death to me; ¹¹ for sin taking occasion through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me . ¹² So indeed the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. ¹³ Then that which is good, has it become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear to be sin, having worked out death to me through the good, in order that sin might become excessively sinful through the commandment. ¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, and I am fleshly, having been sold under sin. ¹⁵ For what I work out, I do not know. For what I do not will, this I do. But what I hate, this I do. ¹⁶ But if I do what I do not will, I agree with the law, that it is good. ¹⁷ But now I no longer work it out, but the sin dwelling in me. ¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwells no good. For to will is present to me, but to work out the good I do not find. ¹⁹ For what good I desire, I do not do. But the evil I do not desire, this I do. ²⁰ But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I working it out, but sin dwelling in me. ²¹ I find then the law, when I desire to do the right, that evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.

⁵⁶ Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;

⁷ But if the ministry of death having been engraved in letters in stone was with glory, so as the sons of Israel could not gaze into "the face of Moses" because of the glory of his face, which was to cease, Ex. 34:34 ⁸ how much rather the ministry of the Spirit will be in glory! ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation was glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory. ¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26

¹⁹ Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come, to whom it had been promised, being ordained through angels in a mediator's hand.

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for through these the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

⁶ on account of which things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience,

⁴ Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

¹⁶ And "they said to the mountains" and to the rocks, "Fall on us," and hide us from the face of the One sitting on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, Hos. 10:8 ¹⁷ because the great day of His wrath has come; and who is able to stand?

¹⁵ And out of His mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it He might smite the nations. And He will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the anger and of the wrath of God Almighty.
