¹ The word of Jehovah that was to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw on Samaria and Jerusalem:

¹ Jotham was a son of twenty five years when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok. ² And he did the right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Uzziah did; only, he did not come into the temple of Jehovah; and the people continued to do wickedly. ³ He built the Upper Gate of the house of Jehovah, and he built very much in the wall of Ophel; ⁴ and he built cities in the hills of Judah, and in the forests he built palaces and towers. ⁵ He also fought with the king of the sons of Ammon, and. prevailed over them. And the sons of Ammon gave to him in that year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley; this the sons of Ammon turned over to him in the second year and in the third. ⁶ And Jotham made himself strong, for he had prepared his ways before Jehovah his God. ⁷ And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his battles, and his ways, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. ⁸ He was a son of twenty five years when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. ⁹ And Jotham lay with his fathers and they buried him in the city of David. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.

¹ The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

⁹ And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you will not be established.

¹⁸ Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah. And he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, So says Jehovah of Hosts: Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house like the high places of a forest.

¹ The word of Jehovah that was to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.

¹⁵ Israel, though you fornicate, do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah lives.

⁵ And the pride of Israel answers to his face. So Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity. Judah shall also stumble with them. ⁶ They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find; He has withdrawn Himself from them. ⁷ They have acted treacherously against Jehovah, for they have brought forth strange sons. Now a new moon shall devour them with their portions. ⁸ Blow a horn in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah. Cry aloud, Bethaven; after you, O Benjamin. ⁹ Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of correction. Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known that which is confirmed. ¹⁰ The rulers of Judah were as movers of a border; I will pour out My wrath on them like water. ¹¹ Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment; because he was pleased, he walked after the command. ¹² Therefore, I am as a moth to Ephraim, and to the house of Judah as rottenness. ¹³ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb. Yet he could not heal you, nor did he cure you of your wound. ¹⁴ For I am to Ephraim as the lion, and as the young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, tear and go; I take away, and no one rescues.

¹⁰ I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: the fornication of Ephraim is there; Israel is defiled. ¹¹ Also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed to you, when I return the captivity of My people.

¹⁴ For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples. And Judah has multiplied fortified cities. But I will send a fire on his cities, and it shall burn up her palaces.

¹ Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind; all the day he multiplies lies and ruin. And they cut a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt. ² Jehovah also has a quarrel with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; He will repay him according to his deeds.

¹ The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

⁴ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn back from it; for they despised the law of Jehovah, and they have not kept His statutes. And their lies after which their fathers walked led them astray. ⁵ And I shall send a fire against Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. ⁶ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals, ⁷ panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the helpless, and turning aside the way of the humble. And a man and his father will go in to the same girl, in order to profane the name of My holiness. ⁸ And they will stretch out beside every altar, and on garments taken in pledge. And they will drink wine of those being fined in the house of God.

¹ Hear this word that Jehovah has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against all the family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying: ² You only have I known of all the families of the earth. On account of this, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

¹ Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, those noted as the leader of the nations! And the house of Israel came to them.

⁵ All this is against the transgression of Jacob, and against the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what are the high places of Judah? Are they not Jerusalem?

¹⁴ So you shall give parting gifts to Moresheth-gath. The houses of Achzib are for a lying thing to the kings of Israel. ¹⁵ I will bring an heir to you again, O dweller of Mareshah. The glory of Israel shall come to Adullam.
